Chapter 17

Chapter 17
"And so yeah, I really like him and I think he likes me too." Lizzie and Ashton have been over at my house for a few hours now and Lizzie was currently telling us about the boy in Arizona she had met while staying with her family.  "do you like him enough to have a long distance relationship?" I asked curiously.  "i don't know." She sighed.  It looked like she was about to cry and I hated when she cried.  Me and Ashton shared a look and we both went to hug her.  "it'll be ok." Ashton assured while stroking her hair. "i know what will cheer you up," I smiled as I pulled out of the hug. "theres like six untouched pints of ice cream in the freezer, you can pick whatever flavor and we can watch any movie of your choice while stuffing our faces with Ben and Jerry's." I was getting pretty excited about this myself.  She nodded her head in agreement and so did Ashton.  I think we were all really excited.  We all got up and went to the freezer to get our ice cream.  "i'll get spoons while you pick the movie." I said as Lizzie went to the living room.  Ashton stayed with me even though I didn't need help.  "you can go sit down if you want." I suggested.  He shook his head, "nope, I'll help you." "but I don't need any help." I argued.  "well, I'm going to help you anyways." He stated and I just shrugged and handed him the pints of ice cream.  "what are we watching?" I asked as I sat down on the couch.  Ashton sat beside me and Lizzie followed not long after.  "Strangers." She said with a smile growing on her face as she grabbed her ice cream.  "ummm.... This is not the movie I expected to cheer you up." I said and she laughed.  Luckily I was in the middle because this movie scared me to death. 

We had all finished our ice cream and are still watching the movie.  It was just now getting to the scary part and I could feel my heart start to race.  I looked over to find Lizzie asleep.  Great. Right when I need her.  I looked at Ashton and luckily he was awake.  I moved closer to him and grabbed his arm.  I felt him laughing.  I was trying my best not to jump when something popped up but failed... miserably.  I was almost on top of Ashton at this point and was squeezing his arm.  He put his hand on mine to try and comfort me.  I just leaned into him more.  He moved his arm from my grasp and put it around me.  "sorry" I whispered, trying not to wake Lizzie.  "it's ok." He pulled me closer to him since I didn't have his arm to hold onto anymore.  I felt a lot better.  I was wrapped in his arms and I didn't feel scared by the movie anymore.  He was still holding my hand with the hand that wasn't around me.  He was strong and warm and I don't know if it's possible but I think I fell even more in love with him in this moment.  I smiled as I wrapped my arm around his torso. 

The movie was now rolling the credits and Lizzie started to stir.  I sat up and looked at her to see a huge grin on her face.  "what?" I asked with a puzzled expression.  "oh nothing." She replied.  I knew that tone, she was thinking 'awww how cute, he loves you' which I always wished but she really believed it was true.  I gave her a look that said no.  She shook her head and started to stand up.  "i need to go, the dog probably needs to go outside."  "aww, I'm glad you to come over for a little while." I said as I stood to hug her.  "me too, thanks for cheering me up." She said as she went to give Ashton a hug.  I loved how close we all were, even though I knew them both more than they knew each other, we were all still really close.  "i'll see you guys later."  We walked her to the door and said our goodbyes, I shut the door and turned to Ashton.  "are you staying?" I was hoping his answer would be yes because I was still scared over Strangers.  "do you want me to?" "i mean... I'm still kinda scared but you don't have to.  It's no big deal." A smile started on his lips. "then I'll stay." "phew.  I honestly don't know what I would've done if you had left me here alone." I laughed a bit and so did he. 

We were both laying on our sides facing each other and looking back on old memories and laughing and just enjoying each other's company.  "you know, I think it's about time to jump off that cliff." He said with a small smirk.  I could see that he was exhausted and I didn't know why he didn't just go to sleep.  I smiled, "how about we do that after school Monday?" I asked. "are you being for real?" He asked with surprise and excitement laced all in his voice.  "duhh, I think it would be fun.  It's probably going to take a long time for me to work up the courage to actually jump." "don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you.  We can jump together if that will make you feel any better." My heart, ughhh I love him.  "it would." I say with a smile tugging at my lips.  "Ashton, you can go to sleep." I laughed at him as his eyes got heavier and he was having a hard time keeping them open.  "No, I had rather stay up and talk to you." He said as he closed his eyes.  "Ashton, it's ok.  I can see that you are about to fall asleep." "you're right, I am." He smiled with his eyes still closed.  I took this moment to look at him while he smiled.  To see the wrinkles around his eyes and the way his smile lit up his face and how his lips were perfect and I re-. I got caught off with my thoughts as I saw him open his eyes.  "are you just going to watch me sleep?" He asked teasingly.  "i would actually love that, thank you so much for asking." I said with sarcasm.  I reached over and clicked the switch to turn off my lamp.  Not long after we were both asleep and wrapped in each others arms.

I'm sorry I have been inactive and that this chapter is short.  Like I said I have been kinda struggling but I have some chapters that I think are going to be really exciting coming up!  
I will try and not slack anymore:/
