After Civil War the Avengers split up with Tony desperate to recruit new members. There were people lined up outside the compound waiting for their shot at their dream. This should have made Tony's job easier with thousands of people to chose from, but the truth was Tony had developed pretty serious trust issues. The very few people he did trust were in the compound already or at his mansion which he barley had time to go to anymore. Or so he made it seem. There was no point to the Avengers anymore it was just 3 people (well if you consider Vision a person instead of robot ) coped in a building way to big for them. He could never let anyone know that though.
Well I lied there was one person Tony trusted with his life who wasn't at the compound. It was not from lack of trying but he understood why he said no. He was just a kid after all he had other things to worry about like homework, school, clubs and tests. Not saving the world or getting a robot and two men in cans to work together. That doesn't mean he didn't come over as often as he could to work in the lab with Tony or help plan Tony's wedding. He also had called designated babysitter for the future baby Morgan Stark.
Then one day everything changed. I guess the government realized how much of a lost cause the Avengers were and just gave up. Realizing the Accords were doing more harm then good. So after some thinking it over Cap and the others decided to come back to compound. Not that they made up so that caused some tension.
Then came the dreaded day. What looked like a million cars were parked outside the compound. Tony stood up stairs in his nicest suit(well 2nd the nicest was for the wedding). With his sunglasses on to hide one of his only weak spots, his eyes. He looked out the tinted window squeezing his stress ball. Slowly one at a time the rouge Avengers left their cars being greeted by the flash of bright camera lights and mics swinging into their faces. They didn't answer any questions as they entered the building.
They all headed up to the penthouse. Tony awkwardly stood outside the elevator as the doors swung open. Before we get to the reunion it's a good idea to let everyone know that they decided Bucky should stay in Wakanda because well you know. Team Cap slowly left the elevator some seemed more at home then others. Clint asked Tony how he was doing and was being polite at least well everyone else just kind of gave a weak smile and a half wave before retreating to their rooms. Last out was Steve the two started at each other filling the room with emptiness. Finally Tony spoke.
"Hey Cap welcome back." He was trying his best to be civil but you could hear the pain in his voice if you listened closely.
"Thanks Tony."
"Well um you can get settled if you want your room is in the same place it's always been."
"You kept my room?" Steve asked raising a eyebrow
"Yeah. I mean what else was I gonna do with it?"
"I don't know I assumed you would turn it into a lab or something."
"Well um.... I didn't you know we have enough labs for now."
Steve gave a weak nod and walked to his room. Tony was on the verge of a panic attack and tried his best to get to his room without looking like he was rushing to calm himself down. Then the next morning was the dreaded meeting. They were gonna try and figure out their differences and work as a team again as well as finish some of the legal stuff. The meeting came and they were all gathered around talking softly well trying not to bring up touchy subjects so they wouldn't kill each other. Everything was going well and it seemed like they were getting somewhere. That is until 3:00 o'clock. Tony's watch alarm went off and he realized he forgot to tell Peter he wouldn't be able to work with him in the lab today.
Then F.R.I.D.A.Y came over the speakers.
"Sir Mr Parker is here."
Tony turned to his fellow Avengers.
"Excuse me for a moment I will be right back."
Once Tony was out of the conference room he ran trying to catch up to the kid before he saw the other Avengers. Luckily for Tony he ran into Peter in the hallway.
"Woah Mr Stark are you ok."
"Yeah Kid doing great just forgot to tell you I couldn't help out today."
Peters face fell into a frown he always really looked forward to his time with Mr Stark everyday it was really one of the only times Peter wasn't stressed. "Why not?"
Tony hated letting down his Kid but he didn't have any other choice. "Well I am in a meeting right now that I completely forgot about you know big boring meeting." Tony stretched out his arms imitating a yawn.
"Oh ok. Well I am here is it ok if I grab my homework I forgot it here yesterday and I have a huge project due tomorrow and can't do it without it."
"Sure kid." Tony said without thinking.Peter walked in front of Tony heading over to his room. This of course is when Steve walked out of the conference room. "So Tony T'challa called he should be here in like 10 minutes. Did you ever get a hold of that Spider guy?"
"Mr Stark you never told me this was your meeting I mean of course it is I completely forgot I don't really watch the news so."
"Who's this?" Steve looks at Peter raising a eyebrow in his direction.
"Oh right my bad I am Peter Parker Mr Starks......intern."
"Nice to meet you kid what are you doing here?"
"I left some of my homework up here. Wait did you say about how Spider-Man was supposed to be here?"
"Well I mean Tony invited him but we haven't heard back from him so."
"Oh." Peter shoot a look at Tony "I am sure he will be here just give him a bit."
"Well um it was nice meeting you Peter."
"You to sir. Mr Stark can I talk to you about a science problem I was having trouble with for a second?"Peter pulled his mentor into a empty hallway. "What the heck Mr Stark you didn't tell me anything about this meeting."
"Well um you know I figured you were busy and I didn't want you to worry about or anything."
"Well I am gonna go to the meeting."
"Peter I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why?"
"Well um see you see it's just you know um."
"That's what I thought." Peter was annoyed about his mentor hiding things from him when it wasn't his place.Of course this is the one day Peter didn't bring his suit but if he was gonna be part of the Avengers he would have to revel his identity at some point. So he decided why not just get it over with. He walked into the conference room despite Tony's protest.
"Hey Kid I haven't seen your homework in here sorry if that's what you came in here for." Steve said at the sight of Peter.
"Um that's not actually why I came in here."
"Then why did you?"
"Um well you said you wanted Spider-Man at this meeting right?"
"Well yeah but we haven't heard from him so."
"I happened to know he didn't get the invitation."
"You have to be kidding me. Wait how do you know?"
"Because he's here."
"That's great can you go grab him?"
"Oh yeah sure." Peter then walked out of the room. With a small smirk on his face he took a deep breath waited 10 seconds then walked back in.
"So let's get to business."Sorry I didn't know how to end it.
