Chapter 19: The Visitor

I’m sitting at the balcony of room 6-6, still pondering of the sudden events.

“Hey, Eleanor”, Beth tapped my shoulder. “Everything’s alright. The police will handle this case. Mr. Grey is a witness.”

“Yes”, I said with a robotic voice. “What is happening nowadays? Kidnappings here and there? I hope those bad guys will not reach here.”

“I’ll be back in 30 minutes!”, Shane called. “I’ll go to the gym. Please do not touch anything on my stove.”

Beth nodded in agreement and waved at her.

“The three of us are already here. Will will come here by tomorrow. I suppose our powers are strong enough.”

“Oh, Will!”, Shane partially yelled.

Beth grinned mischievously at me. I stood up and looked away from the room.

“I thought you’re supposed to arrive here tomorrow”, Shane said.

“Things are getting worse in my place,” Will replied. “At the least, I managed to book a flight for my parents to Korea, and they flew there yesterday. It’s pretty much safe there. It's a good thing that they recovered faster than expected.”

Beth went inside. “Have you heard the news?”

“The house invasions?”, Will asked.

“No. Mrs. Lara was kidnapped. Mr. Grey actually saw her from far away but he was not able to save her because it happened for only a couple of seconds.”

He now looked serious.

I went inside. “Where is Mr. Grey?”

“He just left early morning”, Shane answered. “He’ll be back around one in the afternoon.”

“Ahh, I want to ask him something about that. I’m sorry that I’m a little bit paranoid but, I think that this facility will be their next target.”

“I doubt that”, Beth said. “Out facility is one of the most secured institutions in the world...”

“But they have Mrs. Lara as hostage... and Shane’s suitor as well”, I interrupted.

“I think we must save them”, Will added. “And even though it’s risky, we will lure them here.”

“Do you have any idea about their powers?” Beth asked.

“No”, Shane and Will replied simultaneously.

“Yes”, I accidentally answered.

The three looked at me with suspicion.

“Oh, no. I broke my promise with my sister”, I thought.

Someone is knocking on the door.

Shane was shocked, “Elena!?”

“Hello”, my sister greeted us. “Eleanor. Someone wants to meet you in the director’s office.”

“Me?”, I exclaimed. “Who might that be? My friends?”

“No. Stranger, perhaps? I’m not sure if the person is a man or a woman. His or her face is covered with a mask.”

I shrugged my shoulders. “Hopefully, this is something not bad. Let me have my breakfast.”

“Good morning, Eleanor”, Mr. Steven greeted me. “Please sit beside here.”

“Good morning, sir”, I sat beside the person I seen before. The visitor wears the very same coat, but there are feathers on its hoodie, and seems to bring some cards, but are currently in face-down position. Elena and Ivy stayed in the office.
