Chapter 3
A soft brush of fingers carding through his hair is how Oliver awoke. His eyes opened slowly and he tried to blink away the feeling of dried tears, reaching up a hand to rub at his swollen eyes. A tan hand gently gripped his own before he could rub too viciously, setting it back at his side before running over his eyelids in a soothing brush of warmth.
"You slept for a while, it's almost sunset now. How are you feeling?" the strange spoke softly, voice lightly edged with concern.
Olive stayed quiet for a bit, replaying the earlier events and bits of information. He felt oddly numb to it now, blankly meeting the gaze of the man who cradled his head on his lap, still softly running his fingers through the smaller males hair.
"I...I don't know. I don't know what to do now..." Oliver all but whispered, voice hitching slightly at the end.
"Stay with me. I enjoy you're presence, and I'd like to know more about you." The other spoke so confidently, and honestly that all Oliver could do was nod softly. The other man smiled widely, eyes squinting a bit in joy.
"b-but! Um, since I'm staying, can I know your name?" He mumbled, a bit embarrassed at having waited so long to ask, though he supposed he'd never really had a better opportunity before now.
"My name is Oliver, b-but um, my Mom would call me Oli, so that's ok too..." He whimpered the nickname as he was remind of his mother, a new tear finding a way down his cheek as he looked away.
"Seneca, my name is Seneca, but you may call me Sen if you would like." Sen brushed away the stray tear as he spoke, brush his fingers under Oliver's chin, lightly guiding his face up so their eyes would meet.
Oliver gazed at him with still unshed tears shining in his eyes, rolling the name over in his head.
Seneca, what a beautiful name...
And in a moment of distraction, Seneca closed the small distance between the two, satiny lips pressing firmly against Oliver's own slightly damp pair as his building tears finally spilled over.
