[Before you read this and tell me Tony did not have his arc reactor in CA:CW, let me tell you, I am aware. However, it is pretty and it adds to the story, so let it be. Thank you.]

Being an Avenger, you were more than familiar with pain; but not like this. Never like this. "What are you talking about, Stark? (L/N) just said she saw Spencer do it." Ross inquired.

"If (Y/N) said it, it must be true." Tony's words fell on your ears to the effect of glass shards embedding themselves into every inch of your flesh, "She did see Brittany work on the main server. After she left, however, I went in to close the system and did not pay enough attention."

"No, man, you couldn't have done that. You are the most careful out of all of us." Sam intervened. After having recently fought on opposing sides and injuring his best friend, he felt like he owed it to the man. Tony hung his head. "I am sorry. It's in my nature, hurting the people I love."

Ross tilted his head to the side and his team took the hint, quickly deserting Brittany and using the cuffs to now restrain Tony. "But-but he made a mistake. Nobody should be punished for a mistake." Throat feeling like sandpaper, you strained to speak.

"Treachery is treachery, Ms. (L/N)." Ross declared coldly as he turned on his heel and the others followed suit, pushing Tony ahead of them like a criminal. One by one, the Avengers began to filter out as well, no doubt to oversee the situation with their teammate. They may have fought a war not long ago, but not for one moment should it me mistaken that they did not still care about each other.

Meanwhile, a storm raged inside you. The mere thought of Ross having Tony all to himself filled you to the brim with foreboding. 'No! I must tell them the truth. I will not let him face the consequences of my actions.' With a steeled resolve, you had only stepped one foot forward when someone blocked your path.

"Where are you going?" Wanda asked, her eyes glowing red, letting you know that she knew. She might have utilized your moment of vulnerability to peek into your mind owing to the fact that her expression practically announced that she knew. Everything.

You grabbed her hands, out of desperation, if nothing else. "I have to tell the truth, Wanda. I have to tell Ross it was me who leaked the file, not Tony. I cannot let him go through the interrogation. Ross will go above and beyond, and not in a good way."

More important than what Wanda said next, was why she said it. When civil war happened, you and her possessed quite different views and indubitably fought on opposite sides. Even though things had been smoothed over, you still bore a reminder - a mark. A mark from a burn, beginning below your cheekbone and running diagonally to your throat. A burn from the red waves that emanated from Wanda's fingers. The skin had healed but the scar remained, continuing to agonize Wanda over and over.

Between that moment and now, Wanda Maximoff had decided she would never let you be in pain again. Physical pain, at least. Confessing to Secretary Ross would lead to exactly that. "Do you not know what is going on here?" She asked, fully aware of the answer she was to receive. You face contorted with several lines. "What?"
