[Okay, I would like to preface this by saying that this is largely inspired (the prompt and one dialogue, to be precise) by an imagine I read vaguely 3 years ago. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the work or its author but nonetheless, it was commendable which is clearly evident in the fact that I remember it amidst the hundreds of fics I have read on here in the last couple of years.]

[Oh you thought I'm done? No, there's more. I originally intended for this to be a two part series but then lethargy took over and here we are. I tried my best to fill the plot holes as naturally as possible as the plot goes on but here's an overview of the past anyway:
The Avengers, Steve and (Y/N), used to be together. Not anymore, not since (Y/N) discovered the man she loved could never really love her back. Ensued by a fight, (Y/N)'s departure was quick and abrupt, the only person to last see her being her teammate and best friend, Tony Stark. And now:]

The holidays were over, so was the day. Darkness was nearing - the sky bore a convergent hue of purple and pink. Almost a decade living with five people had subconsciously made you despise the empty loneliness of your one bedroom apartment and you did everything in your power to stay away from it until nightfall called for your inevitable return.

Standing on the sidewalk, you debated your next destination, rapidly running out of options. "Hey! That's (Y/N)!" Someone yelled and you could feel the commotion coming closer to you, even though you were yet to so much as lift your head, hoping against hope for it all to be a figment of your imagination.

"(Y/NNNN)! Come here!" Yelling still, Clint pulled you into an embrace so tight, you momentarily gasped for breath. "Hey, Clint." You hugged him back only post taking in a good lungful of air.

He did eventually let go, upon realising that others were waiting behind him. Around him. They were everywhere. Natasha was next, with a glimmer in her eyes which, if you did not know better, would think were tears. Or so you chose to believe.
