Eliza opened the door to her sister's room. Eliza usually went to her for her troubles, and Angie almost always had advice for her.
"A-Angie?" she asked softly into the pitch black room.
"Whaaaaaaaaatttt?" Angelica groaned. "Just lemme sleeeeeppp."
Eliza turned on the lights. It took a while for Angelica's eyes to adjust. Angie sat up in her bed.
"Ugh.... What do you need, Lizzie?" she asked.
Eliza inhaled. "Uhhhhh......Okay so you know how father asked to meet with me?" Eliza said, her words going a mile a minute. "Well when I got there he practically ignored me and didn't even day hello, which was rude. Like c'mon man, atleast-" Eliza was cut off.
"Get on with it Betsey.." Angelica said, trying to keep up with her sister's words.
"S-Sorry...," she whispered. "Anyways, so...he kinda wants to marry me off.....??" Eliza was nearly silent.
If Angie was drinking something, she definitely would have spit it out.
"What!?!" Angelica screeched, her eyes wide.
Eliza nodded slowly. "H-How do I stop it!? Is there even a w-way to stop it? Oh God what if there's no choice... oH GOD WHAT IF HE MAKES ME MARRY JEFFERSON-," Eliza whisper-screamed. She was currently making a list in her head of all of the bad things that could happen.
"Breathe, Betsey!" Angelica said, trying to calm the hyperventilating girl in front of her.
Eliza breathed heavily in and out and sat down on the bed next to her sister.
"A-Angie what do I do!? I'm not even 18 a-and I'm gonna have to marry some douchey prince just for some stupid allience!" Eliza sunk herself into the sheets, pretending she wasn't there.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay!" Angelica said softly. She thought long and hard about something.
Eliza looked at her, still stuttering. "W-What are you thinking about?"
"We can still get you out of this....I think," Angie said, still deep in thought.
Angelica's eyes lit up as she figured something out.
"Lizzie! This is gonna be in the ballroom, right?" she asked.
"Y-Yeah, why?" Eliza said, confused.
"Follow me," Angie said confidently.
---------------------------------------☆
Angelica had lead Eliza to the ballroom.
"Okay, don't ask how I know this, but somewhere over here is....," Angelica said, pushing the stone bricks trying to find a button.
"Angelica, remind me what were looking for," Eliza said.
"A secret passage. I used them when....," Angelica looked distressed. "Anyways, we can just sneak you out of these! They're a little obvious, so we're gonna have to sneak you out at a time when no one would notice..."
"But when...?" Eliza asked. Then it dawned on her.
"The feast!" they said in unison.
"Of course!" Eliza said excitedly. "Everyone will be in the dining room!"
"And all you have to do is excuse yourself. I'll give you the signal when it's time," Angie said, pleased with herself.
Eliza jumped up and down, squealing. She hugged Angelica tightly and ran to her room to her room to go back to sleep.
---------------------------------------☆
The next morning she got dressed in a formal white dress. She tied her hair up in a bun, a different style from her usual low ponytail. She raced to the dining room to prepare for the night ahead of her. She smiled as she rehashed the plan in her head.
She wasn't gonna let this happen to her, no matter what.
