Annabel picked up her new friend and carried her to the house's hallway closet which acted as her room. She laid the dummy down on the pile of pillows she had on the floor, which was her bed. Annabel sat down next to the dummy and stroked its hair as she talked.

"Poor Mr. Munchkins. I bet he's all alone in Michael's room. If only I could get him back. I think you too would make very good friends." Annabel said, as another tear trailed down her cheek. Annabelle's one eye seemed to be full of pity as Annabel wiped her tears. Annabel turned around to get a blanket for her to lie on but when she turned around, Annabelle was holding a folded up piece of paper in her wooden hand.

Annabel curiously unfolded the paper.

"Karru Marri Odonna Loma Molonu Karrano." Annabel read out loud. When nothing out of the ordinary happened, Annabel folded the paper back up and tucked Annabelle in under the pillows, safe from Michael if he came inside because there was no lock on the door.

Annabel trotted down the stairs and prepared herself for the day of screaming she had gotten used to. Once she had gotten to the bottom of the stairs, she looked out the kitchen window. There was an eerie fog surrounding the house. Annabel had never seen anything like it. Her parents were sitting at the table, oddly quiet.

"Mamma, Papa? Do you want anything?" Annabel asked nervously. When she didn't hear the reply she started to get suspicious.

"Mamma, Papa? Are you okay?" Annabel asked again.

"We're just fine, darling. How about you go outside?" Janine said politely, gesturing towards the door. Annabel was very suspicious but she didn't want to upset them so she shuffled to the front door. She might as well see what the fog was about.

Annabel was just about to investigate when she heard a loud thump from upstairs. It must be Michael playing with his cars, Annabel thought.

Little did she know how wrong she was.
