3 Days Later

It had been 3 days since we have brought Savannah home. Although it was really hard, I got used to it. I was glad that she was a heavy sleeper.

I was downstairs watching TV while holding Savannah in my arms, when I heard the doorbell ring. I got up to see who it was.

Oh no. Chris. I quickly ran upstairs to put Savannah down on her crib and ran back to answer the door.

"Hey, come on in." I said opening the door for them to come in.

"Thanks. " he said with a wink.

"Um, Dereks outside if you wanna go," I said going upstairs. I got to my room and locked the door behind me. Suddenly I heard Savannah cry. I bet she's hungry.  I grabbed her into my arms and opened the door to check that no one was downstairs.  My mom had been working all day so I shouldn't be expecting her.  I quickly heated up her bottle.

All of a sudden i heard footsteps coming closer. I could feel someone starring at me from behind, only to turn around and see. ...Chris. I dropped the bottle.

His face was literally white and his jaw had dropped.

"Please tell me you're babysitting. " he said with his voice shaking.

I was on the verge of crying, but I just stood there speechless.

"Um, I can't tell you that," I whispered "She's my daughter."

His face was in shock.

"She's mine isn't she?" He whispered

I didn't want to answer and I didn't need to for him to know the truth. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because you're my brothers best friend and I was scared you would hate me or leave." I cried

I felt him getting closer. He was holding his arms out. Positioning for him to hold his daughter. I did as he wanted.

"What's her name?"he whispered with eyes getting watery.

"Savannah Grace Reynolds"

"She's beautiful, are you sure she's mine?" I chuckled giving him a smile.

"So you're not mad?" I asked taking Savannah from him.

"In a way I am," he frowned "I would have been there for you and it hurts knowing that I wasn't and I wasn't there to see her be born." I felt tears running down my face. He's right I should have told him. Now I have to confront my brother and the rest of Chris's family. "Does Derek know? "

"He knows that she's mine but not that you're the father. "

"I do now." I heard Derek say coming in from outside. I could see hurt and betrayal all over his face. He walked over to Chris. "How could you do this to me, man?" He yelled.

"I'm sorry I didn't even know she was pregnant." Chris yelled back

I was too hurt to say anything. I quickly ran upstairs with Savannah on my arms and locked myself in my room. I could hear fighting and arguing going on downstairs. I couldn't help but cry. I heard my door being knocked.  I didn't wanna answer it but I built the confidence to.

"What do want are you going to tell me that I screwed up? Because I don't wanna hear it. " I cried

"Alison listen, " he sat next to me " yes, I'm a little mad and sad, but what's been done has been done."

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you it was Chris,  but you guys have been friends forever and you guys are business partners.  It just didn't feel right to try to ruin you guys."

He nodded. "I just have one more question. " he asked

"Ok?"

"When did that happen?"

I let out a breath before answering. "It happened that night at the business dinner."

He nodded and quickly gave me a hug then walked out.
