The 'Box'

MAX'S POV

I'm on the run. Is all I can say, people who run the 'box' have been hunting me down for the past four years, ever since I, Max Ryan Jones was the FIRST KID to ever escape the 'box'! Those of you who don't know what the 'box' is, Then your about to find out.The 'box' is a small square room with no windows, and no doors. And basically the first newborn of every family has to in there, and they just basically torture you to death! I've seen it! We've all seen it! Our mayor is really cruel. She would put a hidden video camera in there and make all of us watch, even the parents of the baby have to watch!

I still remember watching the last video. It was a girl. She had blonde beautiful curly hair, and blue sparkly, Shiney eyes! You could say I had a crush on her. We were real little back then. It was the day where they pick the first child that was born in the family to go to the 'box'. When they called her name my heart broke, even though I was just seven years old I knew that I liked her. The soldiers came to her and took her she screamed and cried. I wanted to go in after her, but my dad told me to stay where I was. We were at the ceremony the next day, waiting. Then on the huge t.vs flashed a blonde curly haired little girl. She was sitting on a chair, eyes all red and puffy from crying, the room was all white. Then all of a sudden she was off the chair, standing, in a meadow. All of us were confused, but she was confused the most. A snake had just appeared! It was so long and fat! And was standing right behind her! It started to hiss, and crept closer, and closer. Until it was right by her feet, and she still hadn't noticed. She was busy looking at something so beautiful, none of us has ever seen it before we didn't know what it was called, but it had the most pretty wings and it fluttered everywhere. The snake, I recognized was a sleeping snake, that once it bites you, you fall into a deep sleep and can't feal anything. The snake begun to get bigger, and bigger that it was right by her head! It hissed in her ear, she turned around, and screamed, And it strikes her! We all gasp! She collapsed on the floor, tears stream down my face, the pretty meadow disappears and she's laying on the floor in the white room.

I slow down to a stop, and climb up the nearest tree to rest. You might be thinking "Why won't you just rest on the ground so you can keep running?" Well I don't trust the ground. I'm still in the mayors territory. So she can make me see things that aren't real and make me feal things that aren't real.

MAYOR'S POV

"Have you found the boy yet?" I asked anxiously, hoping it was a yes. So I can finally make his life miserable! "No mayor, but we're getting real close." Said one of my guards."Are you sure?!" I yelled,"I want him, so I can rip his eyes out!" I hit my desk where I had just stood up."Didn't you do that already? With a little girl?" He asked. I smiled,"yes, I did it to a little girl, blonde curly hair, her eyes were to pretty, I just had to have them!" I laughed. It sounded creepy, I liked it."I thought you never did things twice?"He asked, clearly confused of how I do things around here."I never do things twice, but there's something about him that just makes me want to do this again,"I shrugged and rubbed my chin. He just stood there clearly not knowing what to do now."Go!"I yelled at him. He jumped up and ran out my office, I laughed, things are going to get ugly, I thought to myself. And smiled at the thought as I sat down in my chair.
