A Very Punny Day

In all honesty he should have expected that to happen.

After years and years of training with goons and villains breathing down your neck, a hero such as himself should have easily been able to avoid and adapt to the situation. For someone like him to be caught in this situation with no way out was ridiculous and absurd.

And all he had was himself to blame.

And maybe Superman.

Definitely Superman.

It had started out as a normal day for the Batman. Just a casual stroll throughout Gotham, defeating petty criminals, avoiding serious injuries, trying to not get hit by stray bullets.

The usual.

Things went downhill when he had come to the watchtower for their annual all leaguers meeting.

Normally people avoided him like the plague for his dark and twisted personality that no one seemed to share. Then there was Superman who popped up like the damn sun during sunrise.

"Hey Bats," the super trotted out cheerfully, as he had always done.

Bats raised an eyebrow, giving him a slow and cautious nod. He had heard that underlying tone of mischief that only he seemed to recognize.

"Hello," he added slowly, leaning into his chair as he glanced at Diana who was smiling a little too brightly as well.

What was going on?

He turned to Shayera who shrugged, looking on in confusion as well, this being new for her. The two kept wary gazes on the two metas aware that their all too preppy attitude was meant for something terrible for them or for the league, in the most hilarious or cringe-worthy way possible.

The meeting started casually, they went over the problems of the world, the occasional gossip, and the next scouts for the excess elements in non-occupied surrounding planets.

Batman was ready to leave home, and take a rest, staying up for a week straight would do that to you.

"One last thing everyone, you all heard the announcement I made correct?"

Shayera's face lit up in understanding, then turned to one of confusion. Bat's himself was thoroughly confused.

What announcement?

Superman then turned to him with a grin. Bats silently gulped.

"Oh that's right Bats, I completely forgot to tell you," he grinned 'sheepishly'. "But that's okay you don't have to participate for this."

Bats raised a brow, slyly sliding back into his seat and looked at Shayera.

"Superman who's going to start this?" one person asked, raising an arm as if they could be seen that way.

"I will, then it will be Diana and after that I don't care who goes as long as it's one person at a time," Superman smiled brightly as he turned to Bats with a dangerous smile. "Hey Bats?"
