Chapter Five

Jake POV

I was going to have to talk to Erika but I don't want her to know that I overhearded her conversation.

Jake- Miss Costell see me after class

Erika looked up nervously and nodded her head.  Why was she nervous,  I hope I don't scare her I want her to feel comfortable around me. Before I knew it the bell was ringing,  everyone stood up and made their way out of class beside Erika.  Everyone was out of the room Erika walkes to my desk.

Jake- Erika why was you almost late to my class

Erika- I got caught up in the Starbucks drive-thru line

Jake- Your off the hook this time but if this happens again,  you will have detention

Erika- Thank you Mr. Paul,  I have a question

Jake- Ask away

Erika- Can I have someone over to your house

Jake- Our house,  and yes you can

Erika- Thank you Mr. Paul

Jake- Your welcome,  I will see you after school Erika

Erika- see you later

She walks out the door and all I am thinking about is who she is having over

*After School*

Jake POV

I was sitting on the couch grading the quizzes,  when the door bell rang.  I quickly got up and walked to the door.  I opened the door to see a boy about 6'1, brown eyes, buzzed hair cut,  he looked like a Player.

Jake- May I help you

Player- Uh yes sir I am here to see Erika Costell

Jake- Ok coming in,  I will go get her

Player- Thank you sir

He stepped in the house,  he stood there in a army stance.  I closed the front door,  I walked up the stairs and walked to Erika's room.  I knocked on the door,  she told me to hold on.  I waited about fifteen seconds later the door opened,  she stood there looking like a angel.

Jake- Someone is here to see you

Erika- Oh he is here thank you Jake

Jake- Yeah... No problem

She pushed pass me,  jealousy washed over my body.  I guess she doesn't feel the same way about me.

Erika POV

I walked down the stairs and see my cousin Grayson,  he had great posture.  He has been gone for two years because he is a part of the National Guard Association.  I run to him,  he catches me,  I laugh as he puts me down.

Erika- Let's go catch up in my room

Grayson- Whatever you would Like

I smile at his manners,  I started to walk he followed me.  I walk in my room he was right behind me.  I close the door,  I walk to the bed he sits down along with me.

Grayson- Can I take off my boots Erika

Erika- You don't have to ask Grayson do as you please

Grayson- Thank you

He slides off his boots and lays them beside the bed.  He brings his legs up Indian style like mine.

Grayson- So how has life been without me

Erika- Hectic, Mom kicked me out of my apartment because Dani got Cancer and she thought it was my fault so she kicked me out

Grayson- That's just wrong,  no one should be blamed for someone getting cancer,  by the way how is Dani

Erika- She is doing pretty good,  her cemo is going great.  The docter say she has a amazing chance of surviving

Grayson- That is great, so you have any luck in the love life

Erika- Nope,  I do like this one guy but it could never happen

Grayson- Never say that,  that's what I thought about me a Summer but look now we have a beautiful baby girl

Erika- Yeah but this can literally not happen it would be illegal

Grayson- What do you mean Erika

Erika- The guy that answered the door for you Jake,  he is my teacher and he is letting me stay here because of mom kicking me out. I kind of have a crush on him

Grayson- Y'all would be a good couple but you never know Erika it could happen

Erika- I wish

We both bust out into laughter,  I missed times like this, like when we was little not a care in the world

Erika- You want to watch Netflix

Grayson- Whatever you would like

Next thing I know we have been watching Riverdale for two hours.  I can't believe we have been here that long it feels like it's only been ten minutes.

Grayson- Well I have to get back to Summer and Taytum

Erika- Ok let me walk you out

Grayson- Okay

I walk him to the front door,  we have are goodbye Hugs,  we say see you later and we part are ways.  I walk up the stairs change into my pajamas,  as soon as my head hit the pillow I was out.

* The Morning*

Erika POV

I woke up with the sun shining in my eyes.  I get up and hop into the shower. I put on black leggings and a hoodie.  I was curling my hair when I burnt my neck,  I wince in pain.  I look at my neck there is a place on my neck now UGH. I get down and walk to the kitchen to see Jake making pancakes

Erika- Good morning

He turns around smile as soon as he looks at me a angry emotion shows on his face

Jake- What is on your neck

I look at my neck then at him I was about to say something when he yelled

Jake- WHAT THE HELL IS ON YOUR NECK,  I DON'T EVEN NEED TO KNOW THAT IS A HICKEY WHAT ARE YOU A HOE BRING BOYS OVER AND HAVING SEX THEN HAVING HICKEYS ALL OVER YOU

I look at him shocked he throws the spatula across the room.  He turns off the stove.

Jake- DON'T EVEN TALK TO ME YOU CAN LIVE HERE JUST DON'T SPEAK TO ME OR COME NEAR ME

He walks out the door just like that.  I burst out cry and I text the only two people that know how to help me...
