~Morning~
Thomas's alarm made him jump awake, he groaned and turned it off, his head still hurt from the fight before, he smelt the sweet aroma of pancakes when Newt walked into the room, holding a plate of stacked pancakes covered in golden syrup, Thomas sat up and instantly became self conscious of his probably messed up hair, but Newt was the same and he didn't seem to be bothered that his blonde hair was a complete and utter rat's nest.
Newt smiled and sat on Thomas's bed "Mornin sleeping beauty" Thomas blushes "Are those pancakes? He asks trying to change the subject Newt chuckled "No their chicken nuggets" Thomas smirks and this boy with brown curly hair bonces into the room and sits cross legged on the floor and looks up at Thomas with admiration, "You really declined Gally?" The boy says in complete awe Thomas glances at Newt who smiles and nods, "Yeah I guess I did" the boy jumps up "I knew it!! I'm Chuck" he holds out a chubby hand and Thomas shook it, smiling. Chuck smiled and sat down "Hey Dad where did you get those pancakes?" Newt smirked "In the canteen, there free!" Chuck jumps up and runs out. Thomas looks at Newt with a raised eyebrow "Dad?" Newt sniggers "I'm something of a farther figure to all my friends" Thomas nodded "That's sweet" Newt smiles "Yeah it kinda is" And the boys tuck into the sweet pancakes.
Thomas looks up "Hey Newt?" He asks "hmm?" Newt says his mouth filled with pancake "Why are we here" Newt's eyes widen "Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, the nurse said that you have a concussion and my jaw" he pointed to a purplish bruise, Thomas cringed "Ouch" Newt nodded "Oh and like you kinda sleep in my bed" he looked down "Wait what!" Thomas exclaimed "Well they are gonna make my bed a bunk bed so you can sleep on top but that will probably take a week" Newt explained "Aha, Wait, can't we top and tail or something?" A slight blush rises on both of the boys cheeks "Sure" Newt gives a small smile and goes back to eating.
~Later That day~
The boys have finished all their homework and are really bored, Newt being Newt stares into space and Thomas realised that he has to draw himself for Art, he hates self portraits, staring at a photo of himself for hours, all his insecurities fighting with his artist side, he sighed and looked up at Newt aha he thought and started to draw the other boy. About five hours later he had finished, it was beautiful and Newt was the perfect model. Newt snapped out of his daze and saw Thomas's drawing "That's bloody amazing Thomas!" He exclaimed, Thomas blushed "Thanks, hey er why are you wearing that strange brace" he pointed to a leather brace that went over Newt's t-shirt, Newt smirked "Well it supports my back, when I was ten I fell off a climbing wall, that's why I limp, it effects my spine" Thomas nodded "That must of hurt", Newt chuckled "Sure did, I was in hospital for a month, now I'm shit scared of heights" the boys chuckle. "So, I still don't get the boarding school stuff" Thomas says embarrassed "Well basically, we go home to our foster families on weekends and holidays, like we have more holidays than other schools because we spend more time away from our families, to be honest I hate going home" Newt glanced down and Thomas frowned "Why's that?l he asked intrigued, Newt sighed "I got taken away from my sister, Sonya, plus my foster family's not the best" Newt stands up and announces "I have to go to the bathroom" and leaves, signifying the end of their conversation.
