Chapter Twenty-Three

Thursday Afternoon after school.

On Y/n's way home, the radio quickly cuts out a song that began, they were doing a part on 'The man in the woods'.
They instantly turn up the radio listening intently.
"Daniel Hansen is out and around in town. He was last seen in a loose green shirt, and light brown pants including a white watch..." He then goes to explain his face and body description including hair color and that he could be armed with a weapon. "If you see or find this man call 432-7809-60606. There is a reward for his capture." It then repeats the number about three more times then cuts back to the radio station before.
She instantly texts the group chat about it, they talk about it a little bit then slowly disperse when the topic starts to change. Y/n then texts David about so he knows what's going on.
Though as much as it would've been, they didn't have a lot of worry and anxiety about it knowing they took him down once, they can do it again.

Tuesday Afternoon after school.

Y/n is no longer grounded, she ends up hanging out with Lydia since she hung out with Max the other day. They go out, grab a coffee, and walk around the town. Y/n had brought a pocket knife for protection, Lydia ended up not taking anything. They walk in the park, past David's shop, town hall, all over, even the woods since Y/n was tired of being in the house and school only.

"How do you continue to come here?" Lydia asks as Y/n starts to make her way in like it's nothing.
Y/n takes a long sip of her coffee then throws it in the trash in front of the forest by a bench. "Because I've got a knife, duh, and I beat him up before, I can do it again."
Last time I heard, you had two people and he messed up your arm even more then it was."
"...Shutup."
They keep walking deeper and deeper until they stop in their tracks from rustling. They both start freaking out internally. They hope it's just an animal until the sound gets louder and more aggressive. They hear a low laughing under breath.

"H-Hello?" Lydia asks out loud, you quickly punch her arm.
"Horror movie start!" You whisper and throw up your arms and shakes her head.
Daniel then laughs even louder sounding like a crazy man. They then jump and sprint as far and fast as they can. While running out, Y/n's arm bandage slips off. They quickly curse to themselves but doesn't stop running.
They get to the end of the forest, they're out. Lydia playfully hits Y/n, "You IDIOT! How did you think that was gonna be a good idea?!"
Daniel stands behind them nodding, "Glad you agree!"
Y/n's reflexes kick in immediately and punches him in the crotch, he falls to his knees, "Not again." While barely being able to breathe.
They then book it to Lydia's since she was closer. They hang out for a while talking about it and feeling stupid that they didn't call that number when they called.
Y/n goes home around four, no one knows what happened, nor would her parents care, Alex might not either, Jack would at least be concerned.
She finishes cleaning up the house while listening to music and texting Max here and there. She didn't feel that upset.

A couple of hours later, Y/n rushes over to David's to make sure her arms' alright.
"Nope, you're all good, you no longer need it! How'd it come off?"
"I was running around Lydia, no big deal." She lies.
"Alright good! Not by the woods right?"
"Of course not! Daniel is over there isn't he?"
"Right! Just making sure." He looked a bit worried and Y/n nodded.

After the conversation, Max hung out with her.

Just a filler chapter to let you know that Daniel is still alive some how.

Where getting this HUGE blizzard after we had it down pouring on snow from earlier in the month, our state is drowning, it's crazy, we've been category 2 hurricane winds. It's been flooding absolutely everywhere. They're (news) calling it a rare 'bomb cyclone'
