HARLAI RAN UP JUST AS CLARKE pushed Murphy, her hands flying into his chest and sending him back a couple of steps. "You son of a bitch!" She screamed at him, a torn look on her face.

"Woah, what's your problem?" He asked her with a teasing laugh, his eyes flickering momentarily to Harlai who came to a stop beside the angry blonde before going back to Clarke as she raised the knife.

"Recognize this?"

"It's my knife, where'd you find it?" He asked as he tried to grab it from her hands, but she yanked the chunk of metal behind her back.

"Where you dropped it after you killed Wells." This statement from Clarke drew the eyes of the campers to the scene and caused Murphy to look at her with a confused expression.

"Where I what?" He recomposed himself as he took a step closer to her, his eyes nervously flickering around at the forming crowd. "The grounders killed Wells, not me."

Harlai narrowed her eyes at Murphy as she thought about his situation. The proof was there, but she didn't think that if he did it, he would leave the knife behind. Murphy seemed like he would be smart enough to not do that. Her eyes trailed among the crowd, stopping momentarily on a young girl who seemed nervous because of what was happening.

The brunette knew her from the ship. It was Charlotte. But Harlai thought against her being a culprit because she was so young, so innocent. But were any of them innocent? They were sent to the ground because of being not-so-innocent.

"I know what you did." Clarke was practically hissing at Murphy, but her face was a mixture of emotions. Anger and sadness. She had lost a friend who she hadn't been treating very well lately because of what he did to her. They were still friends though, and Clarke would have forgiven him eventually. "And you're gonna pay for it."

"Really?" Murphy asked as his eyes flickered behind Clarke again. Not at Harlai, but at their 'leader,' Bellamy Blake. "Bellamy, you really believe this crap?"

Bellamy didn't say a thing. Harlai turned to look at him over her shoulder and they briefly made eye contact. How could he not say anything? She just shook her head and looked back over to the two, Clarke getting angrier by the second.

"Clarke, what if he really didn't do it?" Harlai quietly asked as she looked at Murphy. He looked utterly confused by the accusation, but an appreciative look appeared on his face when Harlai suggested this.

Clarke just looked at Harlai with the complete opposite look: betrayal. She trusted Harlai and she trusted her to stay on her side, even if she was doing the wrong thing, but she thought it was right. "He- You threatened to kill him. We all heard you." Clarke's icy blue gaze shot over to Murphy again as she spoke. "You hated Wells."
