The sky was getting darker. I sat on the rock with Kai. "I don't think he is coming back." I rubbed my arms because I could see goosebumps forming.
"Just wait. He will come. If he doesn't come back today, he will come back tomorrow." I rubbed my arms again.
"Are you cold?" He opens his arms widely facing toward me.
"No thank you. I'm not one of your sluts." I rejected him.
"It is not a option. I am cold. Come here." He grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. He hugged me tightly. "Just because I'm hugging you doesn't mean I like you." I tried to break free. "Just stay still. It's cold."
What's wrong with him? He getting so close to me today. Just because I'm in his arms doesn't mean I have feelings for him. It's because I'm cold. I'm sure..
It was getting darker and darker. "Hey."
"Hmm?"
"It is getting darker... Shouldn't we do something?"
"Like what?"
"Like making fire. I'm not planing to die with you on this island."
"I don't know how to do that." I sighed and tried to think of something.
"Oh that's right!" I jumped out of Kai's embrace. The wound on my feet still hurts. "Ouch!"
"Watch out! Don't forget about your feet!" Kai yelled at me. "Dummy!"
"I know. I know. But that man said that there was a grandma living here. We could get help from her."
"Do you know where she lives?"
"I know! She lives right over... Over..." I looked around me. "Umm.. I don't know.." I slouched my shoulders while walking towards Kai. I hugged and cuddled with him to get warm.
This time he didn't put his arms around me. "Wow. That was unexpected. You came onto me without me telling you to." I unwrapped my arms.
"You said it was cold!" I made a quick excuse and scrunched up my eyebrows.
He hugged me again and laughed. "It is."
Suddenly a light flashed on us, blinding our eyes. "Who are you?! What are you guys doing out here?!" I covered my eyes because of the brightness.
"We are stuck on this island."
That person flash down the light. "Follow me." We followed her.
"I think that is the grandma that the man was talking about." I whispered to Kai.
"Yes it is me." The grandma replied.
"How can she hear so well?" I whispered to Kai.
"Because I just can." The grandma said it again, leading us the way.
Kai shot me a look. "SHH!"
I stopped and put my arms on my waist. "Hmph!" How can he hush me like that?! We were at a small house.
"Come in." The grandma opened the door. We went inside and looked around. There was many different kinds of medicine and the smell of medicine was really strong. She went inside a room and came back. "You can wear this shirt. I'm sure you don't want to be half naked." She hand Kai a shirt.
"Thank you." He took the shirt and bowed.
"You guys can sleep inside this room for tonight." The grandma opened another door. The room was really small and it looked like it was made for only two people.
I looked at Kai. He gave me a look like he was disgusted to sleep with me. I gave that same look back at him. "Do you have another room?" I asked her.
"Why? Do you guys have a problem? Aren't you guys married?"
"No we don't have a problem. Thank you very much to give us a place to sleep." I said it before he could say anything. Kai shot me another look.
I nudged his shoulders with mine. "Oh. Yeah. Thank you very much." Kai said and bowed.
"Your welcome. Good night." She left.
We took off our shoe and walked inside. "Why didn't you decline that we were not married? You really want people to think we are married huh?"
"I do not! Don't you see that this house is small? This is the only place she has for us. Be thankful that she gave us a room to sleep. Go to sleep." I laid the blankets down that was neatly folded in the corner. I put pillows between us to split the middle. I moved around because it was way too hot. How does this room get so hot? I fanned myself back and forth. Kai starts kicking around and moved back and forth. I wanted to take all of my clothes off so bad but he is in here with me. Kai took off his shirt and threw it to the wall. I couldn't take it anymore and walk out to the fire place outside. I sat down on a big log.
Kai came out with his shirt back on. "Move over." I moved and opened a spot for him. "Why is that room so hot? It is like cooking a turkey in there." Kai said. I shrugged my shoulders and stared at the fire. "Sadya?"
"Yeah?"
"You know about that day?"
"What day?"
"That day when I said that you were in Jiwoo's gang."
"Yeah what about that?" I looked at Kai.
"You are not in their group right?"
"I never said I was."
"Are you.. Are you Mi-yun's friend?"
"Yeah. And I helped her that day. Why?"
"Oh.. Sorry. I didn't know." I stare at the fire again.
"It's okay." I shook my head.
He took out the shell and gave it to me. "Since I was wrong about you, you could hold onto the shell." I laughed at him.
"Why are you laughing?"
"It is because you remind me of a boy when I was little. He did something wrong and he gave me something that he wouldn't let me touch to make me forgive him."
"Well I'm am not that boy you are talking about."
There was an awkward silence. "Well! I'm gonna go sleep now. It is getting cold. Go to sleep after you are done. Bye." Kai went inside the house.
"He apologized... Heh." I smiled and went inside the small house.
