Fane's P.O.V

Jaque's head lolled back as I mounted Windstorm, I'm starting to get worried. I felt pain in my arm, I almost forgot about the burn she gave me when we fought her. The others are close behind me with her horse, we galloped all the way back to The Sanctuary. As soon as we got to the front, I hopped off Windstorm with Jaque cradled in my arms, she is losing too much blood. I quickly ran through the halls to the infirmary, I gently place her on a bed and go to find Chamie.

I learned that she was the one who treated our wounds when we first came here. I hope she will be able to help Jaque a second time. I rush everywhere to find her, I then burst through the doors of the meeting room. Only to find Chamie and our grandparents talking.

"Chamie, I need you in the infirmary. Right away! It's an emergency!" I said, heaving for breath. She dashed past me, leaving a dumbfounded group of elders in front of me. I nodded for them to follow me and we walked quickly to our destination.

"What happened Fane? Did one of the warriors get hurt?" Grandmother Timberwood asked.

"You could say that, except, we haven't seen this warrior in a long time." I answered. I heard her gasp and whisper something, the only word she thought she would never say again.

"Granddaughter!"

We entered the infirmary and saw Chamie tending to Jaque's cuts. She put fresh bandages on the open wounds and cleaned them. Sage and Lily came in and Chamie tended to our wounds. Sage had a cut on his cheek from one of Jaque's arrows, same with Lily, except on the forearm. I have a burn all up my arm from her shooting a fire blast.

Once she was finished, we thanked her. Then we pulled up three chairs and waited for Jaque to open her eyes. How long will that be? I questioned myself. I laced my fingers in one of her limp hands and waited. Waited to see her beautiful sunset orange eyes again.

-3 weeks later-

We waited for days that turned into weeks. I barley left her side, I only left to eat something else that needed to be done. Sage and Lily would stay most of the day, but had to leave to patrol for shadows.

I looked at Jaque's paled face. She had turned white as a ghost because she had lost a lot of blood. We have done tests and found her blood type and I was the only one here with the same one. I had given blood a week ago and her colour is slowly coming back. I caressed her face gently with my hand, feeling the warmth coming back in her cheeks.

I felt her hand slightly twitch and her closed eyes cringe a little when I squeezed her hand a bit. Chamie told me to do that every once and awhile, to see any signs of ending her coma. I am happy at seeing these signs, meaning she will wake soon.

Grandfather White came in the infirmary and I told him of these actions she gave. His frown turned into a joyous smile. He then told me something I didn't know about.

"Fane, every summer we have a dance called the mid-summers eve dance. Its when we celebrate the coming of the middle of summer, last year, your friends and you didn't attend because, well, we didn't have it. You were all mourning about Jaque that we cancelled the celebration for you three. Now by the signs she is showing, I believe she will wake soon, enough time for the dance."

"Thank you for notifying me grandfather, I will take note of that and tell the others. I am also going to ask Jaque if she will attend with me."

"Good lad, now get some rest. I don't think Jaque would want you to be tired when she wakes."

I nodded and went to the bed beside hers and took a nap. I had trouble falling asleep because I had a nightmare, but a new one.

I was in the meadow, hot tears down my cheeks. I'm staring down at Jaque's lifeless body, her skin had gone pale and cold. I turned around and saw Lily crying into Sage's chest, Sage crying as well. I gently laid Jaque down on the grass and looked at the body of Stephen.

He is now stirring from his unconsciousness and standing, my sadness and pain turning into fury and anger. My eyes turned stormy grey and I had the taste for revenge. I saw Sage's eyes turning dark ocean depth blue and Lily, her eyes deep vine green.

I started to walk slowly to Stephen. My Bo staff in my hand, the wind started to pick up around us. My element matching my anger, Stephen looked slightly frightened. I glanced at Sage and Lily and saw that they are fighting off Logan. He must have woken, but he is still bleeding. I look back at Stephen, he started laughing.

"Haha, one warrior down, three to go. Easier than I thought, you could have saved her Fane. Only if you had gotten here sooner, she would be alive. Here, fighting by your side." My anger level rised, my blood boiling.

"You know nothing about her, she is a fighter. She isn't weak, Jaque is a warrior. You are the one who is weak, you used henchmen for the last year. Just to get to us, just to get us to our deaths. That won't work this time." I snarled, my voice deep and deadly.

I started striking with air. Wind blasts, air swipes coming from my weapon. We kept on going for a couple minutes. Every time I glanced, I could still see Jaque's body on the meadow. I believe she isn't dead, I know it, she is a fighter. I could tell the others believed too, that she is alive. Even though her heart stopped, we believe she will come back.

I kept dodging black ice shards. One aimed at my heart and I was too late to dodge, but a blast of fire blocked it. I look and see Jaque, her eyes blood red and her face etched with rage.

I snapped awake from the nightmare. It started from when the last nightmare ended, as I was processing this through my thoughts. Sage and Lily burst through the infirmary doors and ran towards me.

"Did you have the nightmare?" Lily rapidly asked. I nodded and told them what I saw.

"That's the same with us. We kept believing that Jaque wasn't dead because of how we found her three weeks ago. We thought she was gone but here she is!" Sage agreed.

We kept on talking until we heard moaning. We looked over and saw Jaque sitting up from her bed. We raced to her side and helped her in a sitting position, she had her hand on her head.

Jaque's P.O.V

I wake up and my head is pounding. I put my left hand to my forehead and cringe a bit as Fane Lily and Sage help me to a sitting position. I look around and see I am in the infirmary, again. Ugh! Seems like every time I wake up, I'm in here. I look at my injuries and see that I have bandages on them, must have been Chamie. I look at the others and notice a couple bandages on them.

"Did I cause those?" I asked in a small voice, pointing at their bandages. They nodded and I felt a swarm of guilt come over me. I started saying sorry like crazy until Sage cut me off.

"It's ok Jaque, we did our damage on you too. We are all even, besides, we are just glad that you are safe and healthy." Sage said in a caring voice. We all just looked at him and burst out laughing.

"What happened to Sage?" I asked, wiping away a tear of laughter.

"He mellowed down after training ended." Fane said, which earned him a slap on the arm. Lily was the one who slapped him.

"We all mellowed down after we thought you died, not just Sage. We all barely talked to other people, we just mourned. We didn't laugh as much, or fight. As in hand to hand combat in training. We didn't prank or anything. We missed you Jaque, please never leave us again!" Lily said, hugging me in the process. I could feel wetness on my shoulder and realized she is crying. I pulled her away and told her and the boys what they wanted to hear.

"I won't ever leave you guys again, I love you too much. Plus, you guys would die without me again, head my warning. There will be lots of pranks!" Then we burst out laughing again.
