Chapter 22- Ceremony Preparations and Bad News

The next day I woke up before everyone else and got ready for Riku’s training. Ramien got up shortly after me. “Hey Ramien, I didn’t know you were up,” I said. He looked at me and smiled. “You’re not the only one who gets up early sometimes,” said Ramien.

I laughed when he told me that. “So what made you decided to teach Riku the ways of the family,” he ask. I looked up at him and explained why. “There was a move that Riku did when he was training on his own. The move that dad always used,” I said. Ramien was surprised when I said that. He had no idea that Riku could do that. “Really, he can do that move,” he asked.

I gave him a look and shook my head in agreement. It was the move that our father used to get out of trouble. It was a special spin move that only a few members in the family could master and use it. “There were only two who could do that move in the family. One was your father and the other was your grandpa,” said Ramien. I knew that dad could do it but I had no idea grandpa could too.

“Grandpa could do it too,” I asked. Ramien nodded and said, “Yes he did.” We were finishing up preparing for Riku’s training when Yuna and Shana came down to help us. “You guys need help with that. We heard from Tsubasa that you guys are going to train Riku,” said Shana.

“Yes we do need help. Our family has a ceremony before training the up coming warrior in the family,” I said. Yuna knew how to do things because she had seen this before in Selva. Of course sooner or later we will have to go to Selva because of the shrine.

“Yuna will know what to do so just ask her Shana,” I said. After I told her that Takuya came. “Hey Kakaru, Tsubasa told me what was going on. You need help with anything,” he said. “Of course, we need to have those flags over there in the middle where the warriors in the village will stand,” I said. Takuya nodded and helped me with the flags. Yuna and Shana were helping Ramien with the red carpet that runs down the middle when one of the village warriors came up behind me. It was my family’s long time friend. “Well, well, look at you Kakaru, you have changed so much since the last time I saw you,” the villager said.

I turned around and it was Tetsuya, he was my dad’s old partner and long time friend with our family. “Tetsuya, how have you bee in the last three years,” I asked. “Never been better how about you Kakaru,” he asked.

I looked at him and smiled. “Well I’m finally gonna teach my brother the ways of the family,” I said. Tetsuya was surprised to hear me say that. “Never thought I would see the day when you became the teacher instead of the student,” said Tetsuya.

I laughed as he told me that. I couldn’t believe that this day was finally here. In Selva our family would do the same thing as what we are doing now. We would clear the courtyard and make it into a ceremony hall. Each warrior in the village has a flag in their hands and when the up coming warrior comes through they tilt the flags.

Usually dad and grandpa were the ones to do what Ramien and I are doing now. Dada would teach my brother physical attacks and grandpa would do defense. Tsubasa did the magic teaching back then too. Just as Tetsuya went to help Ramien I had sensed something. It was a familiar feeling that I had felt before. Lloyd was here and Ramien looked at me. I knew that he knew he was here.

“Tetsuya, Ramien and I have to take care of something urgent. Can you handle things here,” I said asked in my mind. I knew he could mind speak before when I first met him. “Yes, go ahead and take care of it. I can handle the preparations,” he said. Ramien and I went to the front of the house. “You felt his presents too right,” I said to Ramien. “Yep sure did, that can’t be good if Lloyd is here,” he said. I agreed with him, he must have an update about Enari. When we got to the front of the house he was standing on the porch.
