Chapter 7- The Shining Forest

We could not believe that we were part of a legend. We were the last hope for Amora. Takuya was the shining warrior and I was the shining dragon. “Now that we are here what are we to do,” asked Takuya. “This shrine will be your training grounds and your second home,” Tsubasa explained. I looked at Takuya and finally asked, “Why is this our second home?”

Takuya and I were puzzled by Tsubasa’s explanation. Soon we realized why he said that. There was more to the shrine than we thought. It was like another Amora with grass and trees and a waterfall. It was like a fantasy land that is underground.

“How can these plants live down here,” I asked Tsubasa. “The shining stones around here are a source of energy for all the plants around here. The water here is from a natural spring,” said Tsubasa. “The stones also provide oxygen for the plants. This is why I said that this is your second home. Takuya, Kakaru, welcome to the Shining Forest,” said Tsubasa.

It was the most beautiful forest I had ever seen. There were even shining stones on the ceiling. The stones were as bright as the sun. No wonder plants could survive down here. Even the air around the forest was pure. It was not thin at all.

“During the night the stones turn blue and still give enough light for life,” said Tsubasa. “Life down here is no different than life up on the surface. The forest goes through all the seasons as the surface. The forest goes trough night and day,” said Tsubasa.

We could not believe that this forest could do all the things that Tsubasa said. We though that it was just a dream. Everything that was happening to us was real, but to us it was still just a dream. “Kakaru, are we dreaming all of this,” said Takuya. “No we’re not dreaming this. This is real,” I said. This wasn’t a dream at least we though.

Chapter 8- Night in the Shining Forest

The forest was filled with the light from the shining stones. It was just like Tsubasa said. The stones turned blue at night, which made the forest look like the Twilight Woods on the surface. It was a moving sight to finally be able to see a place like this.

I have always dreamed about going to a place that was secret. I didn’t know that it would mean I would become a legend. The Twilight Woods is similar to the Shining Forest. It has stones just like the stones here. The light from the stones in the Twilight Woods is the same. The only difference is the sun is the source of energy.

“Tsubasa, why were we chosen for this,” I asked. Tsubasa looked up at me and though about a way to answer. “When I looked into your soul I saw that you had the spark,’ Tsubasa said with ease. I was confused by his answer. “I had the spark,” I said in confusion. “You and your friend both have the spark. The spark that allows you to harness the power of the shining dragon,” said Tsubasa.

I never knew I was chosen for this but I remember my grandpa saying something about this whole thing. He said I had a reason to live and that I would soon know my destiny. He also said that a legend will be reborn in me. At first I didn’t believe him until now. I did have one belief that I was useless in this world. My life was changing before my eyes. It was a lot to bring in. Now I am talking to the legend and have become it.

“It hasn’t sunk in that I am the shining dragon. My grandpa always told me that I had a reason to live, but I never believed him until now,” I said. Tsubasa look surprised when I said that to him. He shook his head and finally looked back at me. “Your grandpa knew you had the spark in you. He knew you and Takuya would find my shrine,” said Tsubasa.

I could not believe what I just heard. How does Tsubasa know my grandpa? What was the connection between them? Takuya had fallen asleep on the ground. I was about to ask Tsubasa how he knew my grandpa, but I was so tired that I was falling asleep beside Takuya and Tsubasa. The blue light of the stones relaxed me and made me feel like I was home again.
