Once the morning finally rolled around, both boys felt ten times better, other than the fact it was now 7am and they had both been awake drowning in their sorrows until the early hours of the morning.

Ben dragged himself out of bed, cringing at the cold. He grumpily pulled on his Jeans, buttoned up his white shirt, next came the battle of trying to tie a tie before fully waking up.

He brushed his hair whist sleepily staggering into the bathroom to brush his teeth and clean his face. He slipped his shoes on, throwing a bag over his shoulder and walking out of the door towards the bus stop.

Once he arrived he was greeted by Rami and Gwilym, looking awkward and sheepish, as if they were hiding something. The pair stood side by side in silence, whistling and rolling their eyes until Ben arrived.

Joe, just down the street, attempted the same task. He groaned at his alarm, aggressively throwing the covers off of him. His mood fell slightly as he realised Ben was no longer laying next to him, though he found comfort in the fact that he would soon see the broad blonde. Joe didn't brush his hair, he just slightly fluffed it up a bit before getting dressed and brushing his teeth.

He threw his ruffed up backpack over his shoulder and skipped down the stairs, lighting himself a quick cigarette on his way to the bus stop.

And then..he saw him. His stomach flipped as if it was the first time they had met.

He immediately felt guilty for pushing Ben away at the weekend, but he wanted to ignore it ever happened and move on. Shoving the thought aside, he flicked the end of his cigarette to the floor and quickened his pace towards the bus stop, throwing his arms around Ben's waist once he arrived.

"Heeeeey Benny!" He smiled. Once again pushing the feeling to the side.

"Joe!" Ben exclaimed. "I missed you so much!" He whispered before bringing him in for a kiss.

"Jesus, babe it was only a night" Joe giggles, smiling up in awe at his boyfriend.

"I know...I still missed you. It was weird. I wish we could sleep in the same bed all the time"

"Me too, love, me too!"

Rami and Gwil rolled their eyes, making brief eye contact before going back to being as stiff as cardboard.

"What's going on with you two?" A confused Joe asked

"Oh..er, I-"

Before either could answer the bus pulled up, the four boys scrambling to the back. Gwil and Rami, who usually sat together, now sat at either ends of the bench across the back row, meanwhile Joe and Ben sat together, both of their hands entwined, resting on Joe's lap.

The ride to school was a laugh, as usual. The boys cracked jokes about each other...and their mums', as normal teenage boys do.

Eventually the bus pulled up at their school, they followed a group of Year 11's off and headed straight to the common room.

Suddenly Joe felt a wave of self consciousness and subtly let go of Ben's hand, playing it off as needing the hand to pull his bag back on his shoulder.

Ben however, saw right through this and felt his heart skip a beat, this time it wasn't a good thing. He knew this would happen. He thought himself stupid to believe Joe wouldn't be embarrassed by him.

He dragged behind the group, hands in his pockets with his head down.

He swallowed his hurt and continued the day.

"Ahh Mr Mazzello, Mr Hardy, good of you to join us today" Mr Gilbert, the head of sixth grumbled.

Clearly a good start to the day.
