To tell the truth, Joe was stunned. Ben came at him with such force he had no idea how to react.
"Ben..please can you tell me why you're acting like this?"
"Bad"
"What do you mean bad?"
"Me. I'm bad. I did it. I didn't mean to. I was scared"
"What did you do?"
"I did a bad thing"
"Yeah no shit. What fucking bad thing?"
"Nothing. Let's go out!"
"Ben!" Joe became more stern now, staring at Ben with harsh eyes as the blonde boy slowly sat beneath him.
"All you need to know is that it was an accident. But it doesn't matter honestly"
Of course Joe didn't believe him, but he would be a fool to think Ben was going to tell him about the time he almost killed a man and moved away to get away from his crime.
