"Please... Angeles, help her..."
As soon as the words left Mira's mouth, Angeles shot past her and to Erza, immediately bringing his hands up to help support the shield as she shook from the pressure.
"What are you doing?" The redhead demanded, tightening her grip on the shields. "Go before you get hurt!"
"While that's touching," The man grunted, moving his hands so it forced her hands to let go. "I can't leave. I'm stronger than you, let me handle this!"
Erza opened her mouth to protest when she was elbowed by the man and sent stumbling backwards. She went to go forward again when people grabbed her arms to hold her back.
Angeles braced himself as held his ground against the Jupiter Cannon's blast, his feet barely moving backwards.
"He's amazing..." Someone murmured in awe as they watched the man hold his own like it was nothing.
Natsu suddenly stumbled forward, his eyes widening, "What the hell?! What's happening to Angeles?!"
Heads snapped over to where the green-eyed mage was and their eyes widened when they saw blood running down his chin and heard the sounds of bones cracking. They watched in horror as one of the man's arms started bending the wrong way, the other slowly following.
Angeles was suddenly sent flying backwards as the blast was finished and he barely made a noise as he slid on the hard ground, his chest heaving as he finally stopped.
"Angeles!" Mira ran over to the man, who looked like he was struggling to breathe. "Oh, God, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked you to-" She stopped and shook her head. She had to worry about his injuries before apologizing to him. "What happened? How were you injured like that?"
Angeles took a stuttering breath, his chest spasming for a moment, "D-Drained... I- Drained..."
"Drained? I don't- I don't understand," Mira said desperately. She slapped his cheek when his eyes started slipping shut, "No, you don't get to sleep! Stay awake! What do you mean you're drained?"
"Drained... Lac... Drained..." Those were the last words to escape his mouth before his eyes rolled back and he fell unconscious.
"No, no, no! Angeles!" Mira slapped his cheek but when he didn't react past a murmur, she turned to Bisca and Azlack, who were the closest, "Take him to Porysulica! Now!"
They nodded, quickly running over, "Right!" The two gently lifted up the injured man and quickly had Gray prepare a stretcher for them. As soon as Angeles was settled, the two took off, hurrying to Porysulica as fast as they could.
"Do you think he'll be alright?" Lucy asked her team, staring worriedly in the direction they left in.
"He'll be fine," Natsu grinned, though his eyes shined with worry. "Angeles is strong. Nothing can hold him down."
Gray nodded, "That dude can go through anything. He'd find death annoying."
"Yes," Erza nodded, cracking a smile. "He said to me once that he couldn't die because he didn't believe there was books in Hell."
Lucy giggled a bit, "That does sound like him."
"Your puny fairy managed to hold back that blast," José spoke through the speaker again. "But can you all handle another?"
"N-No way..."
"Jupiter will be fired again in fifteen minutes- not that you fairies will last that long." Jose laughs before using his magic to send Shades, humanoid phantom soldiers, to attack the Fairy Tail guild members below him.
