Around the palace, everyone knew each other's name. The security was so tight that it was impossible not to. That being said, Angeles and Thomas' presence seemed to throw people off sometimes. Despite how nice Thomas was, he was just like Angeles- in that he would go with his own flow and rarely go out of his way to do something. Seeing the two in the palace probably meant that they had an important meeting to attend with the eldest princess.
Another matter that baffled people was the two mages' relationship with Princess Jules. Not many people were aware but the king and queen had two daughters, Jules and Hisui. Unfortunately, around age fourteen, the eldest princess became very ill. It startled gradually but her immune system began to fail and she was bedridden for years. A few days after she turned seventeen, the doctors certain she wouldn't last another night. However, the princess seemed to make a miraculous recovery, her health rising steadily, causing everyone to rejoice.
Security was strict the following weeks of her recovery but, as the king called upon a few remarkable wizards, Jules formed a connection with a mage from Fairy Tail. No one knew what sparked the odd relationship between them, all the nobles were aware of was that Jules would not consult anyone but Angeles, Thomas, and her assistant CJ. Many people speculated that the eldest princess was pulling away from people because of her time spent alone during her sickness. She became bitter, a little world-weary, and she would come off as cold to anyone including her sister. Some would say she was like a whole new person, and they weren't sure if it was for the better.
"You're late."
Angeles and Thomas turned to see a dark-skinned man smiling at them. He was an inch or two taller than Thomas, making him about three inches taller than the Fairy Tail mage. His hair was a fluffy light brown, strands hanging in front of heterochromatic eyes. One eye was a pale blue while the other was a nice light brown, and they held a hint of amusement as the man regarded the two mages. His clothes were formal robes, the linings etched in gold while the cloth itself was a deep red color. Curled in his hair were strands of gold while said color highlighted his cheek bones.
"I don't care," Angeles responded, walking over to the man. "Where is she?"
"Where she always is," He responded, tilting his head towards a closed door next to them a few feet away. "The library."
Thomas shook his head at his friend before turning to the other man, "Hey, CJ. How've you been?"
The man known as CJ shrugged, "I'm doing as well as one can when working with the princess. How have you been?"
"I work with that guy," Thomas pointed at Angeles, who decided to pretend he couldn't hear them even though everyone knew he could. "How do you think I've been?"
"Fair point. Come on, she wants to speak with you both."
Thomas raised an eyebrow before following him, "Is it serious?"
