Connor's POVIt was 4pm on a Saturday. We got a call that some kids at a skate park were selling and taking illegal drugs. "I don't even understand how their parents wouldn't know about this! Or what if they do and condone it!?" Hank yelled, pulling at his hair as he spun in his chair. "I assure you Lieutenant that I will take them all back here and have them all put in a juvenile facility" I spoke. "No, no Connor. They're just kids. Just ask em' a few questions like who's their dealer or manufacturer and such, then confiscate the drugs and bring em' in" Hank said. "I see". I got up from my desk, Hank following behind me, and left through the front door of the police department. I got in the passenger side as Hank sat in the drivers seat.
"I don't understand why you have to come with me lieutenant. I can do this case on my own" I said. "I know you can Connor, but that's not the point" he said, buckling his seatbelt. "The point is, is that people aren't quite nice to androids since they got rights. I don't want you to get destroyed or kidnapped" Hank said while driving. "Kidnapped?" I questioned. "You tend to wander off Connor" he laughed. "To get away from you" I joked back. "wOw Connor, not gunna' lie. That hurt" he joked.
Our car pulled up to the skatepark. There was a group of boys, all sitting on a bench, while one stood in front of them doing tricks. I processed everything around me. We walked up to the group of kids. "Oh no guys! It's the cops!" A boy yelled sarcastically. "Yeah, Yeah, we got a call saying that you boys were selling and doing illegal substances. Is this true?" Hank said. "What's it to you old man?" A boy on the bench asked. "Can I see some sort of ID?" Hank asked. "I have my library card if you want that" the kid that was doing tricks said. All the others laughed. "How old are you kids?" Hank asked. "58" the kid doing the tricks yelled. I scanned his face.
Andrew Dillon; 17 years old. "He's 17" I said. "We got an android cop here fellas" one guy said. I scanned him. Kyle Price; 16. "He's 16" I said, pointing my hand at him. "Aye, We ain't got no drugs" one guys said. "You wanna' search me officer?" A boy said, rotating his hips while riding his board as his friends laughed. I couldn't help but notice that I couldn't look away from him. He had a red beanie on and the prettiest face I've ever seen. I scanned his face. Matthew Hamper; 17. Andrew stood up and faced Hank and I. He horribly smelt of marijuana.
"Look y'all can pat us down n' show us some stone cold proof of us dealin'n shit, or we can be on our way" he said. "Alright, I'll let y'all' off with a warning. I have a feeling that my partner and I will being see you and your friend back here very soon. Let's go Connor" Hank laughed. "Aye old man, why don't you let your robo cop buddy stay for awhile" Matthew smirked, holding his board and winking at me. My heart rate picked up. "Maybe another time kiddo" Hank laughed.
We got back into the police car and sat in the same spots. "Didn't take you for liking men" Hank said. "What do you mean lieutenant?" I said, looking out the window at the skateboarders. Matthew waved and blew kisses at me as his friends laughed. "I saw the way you looked at that kid in the uh-in the uh red beanie" Hank laughed. "Androids aren't programmed to develop feelings for a certain gender or race" I said, staring at Matthew as he did tricks on his skateboard. "OkaaaAy" Hank said, driving away.
