Justin's P.O.V

In a rush, I walk out of my house and unlock the door behind me before hopping into my car. I set the new vase filled with flowers I had ordered for Selena on the passenger's seat floor, since Vivian had accidentally broke the last one.

I looked at the note that I had written to go along with the flowers, and reread it over and over. I pressed my lips together, crumple it into my hand, and tossed it out. It was just too friendly.

I pull out my phone and call Vivian.

"Hello?"

Hearing her voice alone puts a smile to my face, releasing some of the stress that had been put onto me today.

"Hey, babe. I was just calling to let you know I was on my way, leaving the house now. Um, if you want to come by later, you know where the key is hidden."

"Thanks. Hey, Justin?"

I stopped in my tracks. Her voice went soft, and I could tell something was up.

"Yeah? What's up?"

"I- um...tell me how things go, okay?"

"Of course, Viv. I'll tell you everything." I assured her.

"Okay. I'll see you later."

"Alright, baby. I'll see you soon. Bye."

We both hung up and I looked at my screen for awhile. I could tell by her voice that there was a bit of uncertainty about something. Most likely about all of this.

I wanted to do nothing more but to drop everything and just be with her. No one else. All I ever want to do is be with Vivian. All day, everyday.

But I couldn't cancel seeing Selena. I mean, I could...but that would just be an asshole move, and I wouldn't hear the end of it from Viv.

I was told Selena had recently been checked out of the hospital recently, so I was seeing her at an Airbnb her and her mom had rented in Malibu. The house was isolated, so it was quite the drive. It gave me a lot to think about.

I hated to say this, but this was the last thing I wanted to do. Visiting my ex? Because my girlfriend today told me to? This was just too weird.

I parked my car at the end of the driveway and took a deep breath. Just keep cool, I kept telling myself.

I grab the flowers and make my way to knock on the door. Within seconds, Mandy answers. Selena's mother.

"Justin." She says. No smile whatsoever. She was definitely not happy to see me. She looked at the flowers, then back at me with her nose flared.

"Mandy." I press my lips together. "How've you been?"

She rolls her eyes and walks down a hall, leaving the front door open for me to follow her. "Selena's in the room." She says, ignoring my question.

I awkwardly close the front door behind me and walk behind her.

Mandy quietly knocks on one of the bedroom doors. "Selena, baby. Justin's here." She says. She cracks the door open to look in.

"Great, tell him he can come in." I hear her say.

It's been months since I've heard Selena's voice in person. I could feel my heart begin to race.

Keep cool.

Many widens the door open for me. She eyes me up and down before walking off into a different direction.
