Esmee's POV

"Morning," I said as I went to sit down at the dining table. I saw mom seated at her regular spot, she seemed frozen in place. "Mom?"

Mom still didn't respond.

I gently nudged her. "Mom?"

She looked at me, a look of horror in her eyes. "Esmee."

"Mom, what's wrong?"

She seemed like she was about to cry. "Lily..."

"What about Lily?" I gulped, expecting the worst...

She looked down. "I walked by this morning, by their room," She paused, seemingly thinking. "I heard nothing."

Suddenly my fear dropped. "You heard nothing?"

Mom shook her head. "It's bad, isn't it?"

"Mom," I sighed. "They were probably sleeping."

Mom sighed, realizing she was freaking out over nothing. "I'm stupid."

"You're worried," I put my hand on hers. "But I understand. Just don't get too paranoid, ok?"

She smiled and nodded.

Lily's POV

I stretched, but stopped when I felt I was sore. I laid down on my back and saw Catherine looking at me.

"Hey," I smiled, I finally saw the Catherine I fell in love with. "How are you feeling?"

She smiled. "Perfect," She then leaned in, connecting our lips again. "I really needed last night."

"I felt that," I felt my body, noticing I was really sore. "You were rough."

Catherine's smile vanished. "Did I hurt you?"

"No," I caressed her cheek. "But I am sore."

Catherine scooted closer to me, pulling me in her arms. "I'll keep you safe all day, I'll never let you go."

I smiled as I enjoyed this moment, I could literally spend eternity in Catherine's arms. But, unfortunately, our little princess wouldn't let me.

I looked up, at the door. "It sounds like our princess needs us."

Catherine let out a breath as she laid on her back. "Can't we ask someone to watch her? I want to spend time with you, just the two of us."

I looked at Catherine, I was surprised. After yesterday's behavior, I didn't expect her to ask that. But I certainly didn't mind. "Or we can spend the day with our daughter, as a family."

Catherine looked down. "We could."

I couldn't help but wonder why Catherine wasn't as eager to spend time with Emily as she was before. It seemed that the older Emily got, the less time Catherine wanted to spend with her.

"Ok," She finally said, realizing I wouldn't leave Emily with someone else. "Let's go on a trip."

I smiled. "First I need to get a bath, to get my body to relax."

Catherine nodded. "I'll go get Emily."

"I'll meet you downstairs?"

"Sounds like a plan."
