Rose's awakening

Chaeyeon had heard rumors and myths about "Nightlings", supernatural creatures that lived within the shadows and remained unknown to most humans.

Vampires that would stalk the streets at night to feed on blood.

Werewolves that would attack people during a full moon.

Witches who lure people with their magic and curse them.

Of course, Chaeyeon never believed in the supernatural. She wasn't superstitious like her friends.

Even today, as she overhears a group of high school girls chatting about a conspiracy regarding a supposedly haunted mansion.

"Is it true? That 'rose mansion' is really a vampire's house?"

"It might be. They say the body of the girl who lived in that mansion is still there."

"No way! Why would she still be in that abandoned mansion?"

"Maybe she was the vampire who was killed there. Apparently it was a big news story years ago. That's why the rose mansion has such a reputation."

"But, I heard some rumors that she's actually still alive."

"What?! That's creepy..."

"How could she still be alive if she was killed?"

"Maybe she survived her death without anyone realizing?"

"Some say she was cursed by a witch into a death-like sleep, and she's waiting for her true love to wake her up."

"Uwa~ that sounds like some sort of tragic, dark fairytale..."

"I heard, if you knock on the door three times, it'll open by itself."

"Oh man, that's freaking creepy!"

Chaeyeon just sighed. "There's no way that's real..."

*Knock knock*

A young psychiatrist, Kwon Eunbi, had looked up from the files she was looking over when she heard a knock on her office door. "Come in."

Chaeyeon walks into Eunbi's office, greeting her before sitting down on a sofa.

"Good afternoon, Miss Kwon."

"Good afternoon. I received the details of your trouble sleeping from your mother. If you don't mind, just give me some details on what's causing you trouble."

"Okay..."

She talks to the psychiatrist about a recurring dream she's been having over the past few weeks.

"I'm running through a forest with someone I don't know. A girl with short brown hair and dark eyes. She's really pretty..."

While Eunbi is writing notes, she notices the girl blush a bit.

"I don't remember who she is, but whenever she appears in my dreams, I feel nostalgic."

"I see. What next?"

"After we run for some time, we arrive at this mansion with a rose garden. She lets go of my hand and I lose sight of her, so I chase after her."

"...!"

"Then... I don't really remember much after that. The last thing I can remember after I wake up is seeing a blue rose."

After listening to her story, Eunbi sat silent for a moment while deep in thought.

"Miss Kwon, what do you think these dreams could mean? Why do I keep having them?"

"Miss Lee... Perhaps these dreams are linked with some repressed memories from your past."
