I should be happy. I really should.
But I'm not.
Jaebum and I are friends again, Jackson and I are friends. What more could I possibly want?
But that's just it.
Why have I been so stupid? Why did I have to friend-zone him that day when he confessed? He was able to confess, so why aren't I able to do it?
Because he doesn't feel the same way anymore.
Those words rang large in my head like sirens. I sighed.
No more.
I can't lie anymore.
I can't keep this bottled up inside any longer.
It's time.
For real, this time.
I sprinted out the door and dashed to Jaebum hyung's house. I knocked frantically on the door.
The door swung open and there stood Jaebum. "Is everything okay, Jinyoung? You look a bit dishevelled."
That's my best friend; always looking out for me. :)
"Look," I started. "I really need to talk to you. There are some things I want to...say."
Jaebum stepped aside, allowing me to enter.
We went upstairs and sat on his bed.
"What's on your mind, Jinyoung?" Jaebum asked me.
I took a deep breath and regained a steady posture. "I've been lying to you, hyung."
Jaebum gave me a questioning look. "If it's about the time you used my toothbrush to get the gum off your shoe, it's okay, I am aware."
"No, it's not that. I've been lying about the way I feel about you."
"How so?"
"I don't just see you as a friend, Jaebum hyung."
Jaebum chuckled. "I know, you told me yesterday."
"No, you're not understanding. That day when I friend-zoned you...I didn't realize that..." I paused and shut my eyes. "That I love you."
Jaebum looked up at me, wide eyed, face flushed. "I-is this true?"
"T-truer than how much I hate myself for not only chickening out for so long, but also stuttering while doing it."
Jaebum laughed, which allowed me to let out a sigh of relief.
As we were giggling, our faces came closer and closer together, we were unconsciously inching towards one another.
And then something happened that I never expected to happen.
Jaebum's lips met mine.
