Chapter 5

We gave the principle our papers, and she read them all fast.
Celestia: "Rainbow Dash," we all turned to her, "you may leave."
What?!
Rainbow: "Bye guys," she grinned. I stared at AppleJack as Rainbow left the room.
Celestia: "Rainbow over reacted again didn't she?" We both nodded. Ok, AppleJack, get to class while I have a quick word with Sunset. Give your teacher an apology and say you were speaking to me. AppleJack left the room. This was the most nerve racking thing ever for me.
Celestia: "Sunset Shimmer, you have made progress over the year and I was beginning to be very proud of you."
Me: "Beginning?"
Celestia: "Over the past few days," she filed her papers, "your grades have dropped vigorously." She showed me a piece of paper with some sort of chart with a huge line going diagonally down...
Celestia: "If I think back to last year..." Oh dear, no one wants to think back to last year. "I remember your grades were the same as they are now."
Me: "But miss I have changed! I promise!"
Celestia: "But what have you done the same?" I thought it over. All I had done was helped Twilight, spoken to AppleJack...which I didn't do last year....oh, and I spoke to Flash. Wait...I was dating Flash last year. How do teachers know this stuff.
Celestia: "I know you know, maybe you should stop bringing all your attention to romance and dates and start refocusing on your work, perhaps?" Point proven.
Me: "I can assure you I am not dating anyone." She raised an eyebrow at me, before showing me AppleJack and Rainbow Dash's papers. She pointed to AppleJack's, that started:
'...Sunset was giggling and laughing with her boyfriend, Flash Sentry.'
And Rainbow's that started:
'Sunset Shimmer was laying by her boyfriend, Flash's, feet, blood dripping down her arm.'
Both of them were lies! AppleJack knew I wasn't dating Flash! Or maybe she didn't, maybe she thought things had changed now...
Celestia: "Are we going to argue about this Sunset Shimmer?"
Me: "No miss...."
Celestia: "Good, now I want you to stay away from Flash as much as you can. His attitude isn't getting him or you anywhere at the moment. I'll give you a chance to see him in the nurses office after school, but that's it. Understand?"
Me: "Yes miss. I understand..."
Celestia: "Now hurry along to class. You're already half an hour into the lesson."
'It's not like it was my fault'. I thought to myself. And I didn't hurry, I walked as slow as I could. Why is it that Monday's are always the worst day of the entire week?! Last week I lost my school bag and found it on top of the roof. Another Monday I ran out of lunch money! Seriously?!

I ran to the office after school. Surely he was better?
Nurse: "Yes?"
Me: "Um...I'm here to see Flash, Flash Sentry."
Nurse: "And your name is?"
Me: "Sunset Shimmer..." She went back into the room and came back signalling to go in. All I wanted was to see my friend, it's not like I was going to court!

I saw Flash sitting on one of the chairs looking as miserable as hell. He leaped up when he saw me.
Flash: "Sunset! You came?" He hugged me tightly, which made me feel guilty for Twilight...but still.
Flash: "Your shaking!"
Me: "I'm cold." I wasn't. I was nervous about how he would react. If he would blame me. For some reason I felt my cheeks heating up. No one had really hugged me apart from Flash, ever, and it kinda felt nice to...well, have him touch me again... I turned my back to him so he could see my face. AppleJack's hat would really be useful.
Flash: "How's your arm?" Wow...he cared 🤦‍♀️ .
Me: "How's your head more like!?"
Flash: "Turn around, I can't hear you." So I turned around, I knew I was still Pinkie Pie colour. He didn't say anything, he just paused.
Flash: "So...um...I heard Rainbow Dash has been punished, excluded, not permanent though." I nodded.
Flash: "How's Twi? Does she know I'm here?"
Me: "No...I'll go get her now."
Flash: "Thanks Sunset."
I went to get Twilight, and Flash was let out of the office, so he was waiting outside. Thank god, the nurses are nosy anyway, they gave us weird looks. All teachers did when they think you are in some sort of relationship or what not.
(A/N This is so true) The day had gone pretty crap to be honest, but this wasn't going to make me miserable. I saw AppleJack on the way back home and she said she was heading to Rainbow's and I was welcome to come. As much as I really didn't want to, I went anyway.
Rainbow: "Hey AJ, Sunset."
Sunset: "Excluded huh?"
Rainbow Dash: "I feel so bad for you, that cut looked so painful, are you ok?" This had to stop. I didn't have feelings for Rainbow Dash, and she clearly had it bad for me. I had to settle things.
Sunset: "Rainbow why do you care about me so much?" Applejack shot me a look but I ignored her. "Tell me honestly."
Rainbow looked at AppleJack who just nodded.
Rainbow: "I have feelings for you Sunset. I'm sorry considering you and Flash are dating but I need to get this off my chest..." she gave me a week smile. Why does everyone think me and Flash are dating!
Me: "Ok...well thanks for being honest...but I'm really sorry, I-I just love having you as a friend...nothing more." I could tell she was trying to keep it together. "Trust me, there are a lot more amazing people that I can think of, annnd I know someone who has a tiny crush on you. No telling though." It was AppleJack, I know AppleJack had a huge crush on Rainbow. AJ was actually standing in the corner blushing and gave me one of those 'I'm so going to murder you' sarcastic looks...y'know what I mean?
Me: "Finally, can someone please explain to me why everyone thinks me and Flash Sentry are dating! Like seriously? I went out with him, big deal? It was ages ago, so what's going on now?
AppleJack: "It's literally the gossip of the last few days. You guys spend all your time together. I thought you were going out since the thing in the park on Friday." Rainbow Dash didn't care though, she was thinking about other things.
Rainbow: "Please tell me who likes me! I need to know! Please! Please! Please!" I shook my head.
Me: "AJ, do you know who has a crush on Rainbow?" She smiled.
AJ: "Maybe..."
Me: "That's great! I'll leave you two to talk about it then! Have fun!" I left Rainbow Dash's house and headed home feeling so successful. What a great friend I was! 😂
