Find a regular shampoo and conditioner. Ones to use every time you wash your hair. Make sure the shampoo cleans very well and the conditioner is moisturizing.
Have a hair cream/deep conditioner. You can buy one that suits your needs or make one yourself. You can make a hair cream by whipping shea butter and adding oils (coconut, castor, olive, etc.). You could also do a protein treatment with eggs, yogurt, or mayonnaise. Or you could just mix random things and see what works. Personally, I use olive oil, castor oil, and honey, one tablespoon each. Olive oil moisturizes and prevents hair loss. Honey moisturizes and promotes a natural shine. Castor oil is good for hair overall.
Have a routine. Figure out how often you need to wash your hair. 1-2 times a week is good for some people. Find out if it's getting oily because you're washing it too often. Maybe all you need to do is increase the days between washes. Also, figure out how often you will use a treatment. I do mine very other time I wash my hair.
Tips
Don't wear tight hairstyles. They pull.
Brush your hair everyday, even if it's with your fingers. It keeps it smooth and prevents oil from building up on your scalp.
The inversion method will help with the growth, thickness, and overall health of your hair.
Your hair grows the most when you're sleeping. Brush your hair before bed.
Wash your pillowcases regularly.
Avoid heat.
