white day

They live in California, but Seulgi insists on celebrating White Day. She claims its because Jaebum spoiled her on Valentine's Day and she feels the need to reciprocate, but Jaebum doesn't need a reason. If she wants to celebrate it, they'll celebrate it. 

Seulgi rides with Wendy to school as usual, but today Jaebum waits by her locker instead of outside the school gates. He greets everyone that passes him: his friends, the freshman that apparently has a crush on him, and any teachers that are surprised to see him so early for once. Seulgi walks over, Wendy bidding her farewell and Jaebum smiles, "Hello."

"Hello," she greets, "I made you something." Jaebum holds her bag for her as she pulls a small gift box out of it. It's cutely wrapped in ribbon, a small envelope attached and Jaebum opens that first. Cute polaroids catch his attention, some of just Seulgi, others of them together. "You can put them on your laptop case." Seulgi explains before he unfolds the letter she tucked into the envelope too. It's short and sweet, with tiny sketches of them together and hearts decorating the border, words detailing how much she loves him and is thankful for him. It makes him soft.

"Thanks, baby." Jaebum presses a kiss against her lips.

"I also attempted to make you chocolates." Seulgi tells him, opening the box and showing off her candies. They look like classic homemade bon-bons, some with heart sprinkles, some with strips of white chocolate.

"They look good." Jaebum pops one into his mouth. They're sweet, on the verge of too sweet and this one had a cherry inside. "Thanks again. I love them, I love you." He peppers more kisses against her face as she cups his cheek. "Your favorite freshman is giving us the death glare."

"I'm glad she finally got the hint that you're taken." Seulgi giggles as Jaebum places an arm around her and begins walking her to her homeroom. "Today's also pi day."

"Yeah, want to get pizza? There's a place where you can build your own, doing a special for 3.14."

"I guess I can skip class with you to get pizza." Seulgi sighs, "Is it far?"

"No, and if it was, who cares?" Jaebum smirks, earning a playful hit from Seulgi. "I will see you after fourth period, make sure to doodle 'Mr and Mrs Im' all over your science notes so I have something interesting to look at when I copy them later."

During her second period, she's sitting with Wendy, talking about prom committee and how it's looking for members when Soojung and Naeun enter, taking their seats a few rows down from Seulgi and Wendy. It's science, so they sit at table tops with partners, and gossip because the teacher never makes it interesting. Today, they're watching a videos about plants, so Seulgi's ready to mentally check out. She begins her job of humoring Jaebum, by drawing hearts with their initials in the margins of her notebook when she hears Soojung laugh at something Naeun says. Wendy glances over at her, and then gestures the two mean girls before pointing at Seulgi, an easy sign which translates that they're talking about her. Seulgi sighs, leans back a bit and listens in.

"I saw that Seulgi and Jaebum are running for Prom Queen and King." Soojung tells Naeun.

"He might get lucky but I doubt she will. I'm surprised they're even still dating. I give them until summer, and then he'll drop her before college." Naeun predicts, "No high school guy wants to stay with his high school girlfriend if he could have a more experienced college girl."

"I know right, especially if they're prettier. She's nothing special." Seulgi tunes them out after that because she's heard enough. She already has her moments when she wonders if Jaebum would want to stay with her after high school, so she doesn't need to hear it from others. Wendy pokes her side, sliding her a piece of paper that reads: forget them, you and jb are perfect. It makes Seulgi feel slightly better, but she'd feel even better hearing it from Jaebum instead.
