Tay’s POV

BLIND?! No! NO! I could never play minecraft, never watch youtube, never see my friends...NO! “What?!” I asked, hoping that I had heard it incorrectly. There was a moment of silence, then I got my answer. “You heard me correctly. But we have to see if it is fixable, but it could take several months to heal and even then you would need to wear glasses.”

“Can we see now?” I hear my mother ask in a worried tone. “Let me go see if the neurologist is available at the moment.” I hear scuffling of feet. Several months without seeing anything… that was better than a lifetime.

“He is available right now,” I hear after a few minutes of silence. “Hello,” I hear an unfamiliar voice speak. “I am Doctor Stone, a neurologist. So, you can’t see at all?” He says, clearly addressing me. I shake my head. “Okay, we can go to the scan now,” Stone says, and I feel my body being lifted onto a stretcher. We roll out of wherever we are, and into another room.

My stomach suddenly lurches as we move down. We move again, me not knowing what is happening due to my inability to see. I am lifted once more. “Please relax, you will hear the door shut and a couple of beeps, but please stay calm.” Stone’s voice drifts into my ears.

Just as he said, I hear a door shut. I wait for about twenty seconds, hearing nothing. I jump as I hear the first beep. I keep my mouth shut though. After a couple of seconds I hear another beep, then another, then another, and about 3 more until it stops.

They take me back to the other room, and we all wait for awhile. Time ticks super slowly, having nothing to look at but an abyss of darkness. The door opens slowly through my ears and I tense up. “It-It’s fixable, but she will be blind for 8 months.” I hear the other nurse say.

8 Months. I hear Amber give a cheer. She was happy that I was okay.

“Your surgery will be in 4 days.”

Wait.

Surgery?!

~4 Days Later~

I shook out of fear as I felt the stretcher being pulled. I hear two doors open, feel a mask being placed on my face, and everything goes mute.

Amber’s POV

I had expected Hannah to be super angry when I got home as I had gotten out of the Alcaret’s car, thanking them. I had been surprised to find Hannah and Kati waiting for me, getting hugged by Kati intently.

Now, four days later I sat at home staring at a wall. I probably should tell my subscribers what was happening. I got on my computer in my desk chair, set up my microphone, and began the recording, doing some parkour in the background.

“Hello guys, Amber here, and this is a quick little update to tell you why I have not been updating you. You see, GeminiGaming also known as Tay has been in an accident and has lost her sight. Today she is in a surgery to get it fixed. Please show her lots of love! Alright see you later guys!” I ended the quick, 30 second video and simply posted it, no editing required.

Within the first few minutes I was in tears of how much support they were giving Tay. So I posted a comment.

‘Hey guys, thank you for so much support, Tay will be so happy to hear it when she gets out of surgery! Love You all!’ It read. I went over to my twitter and found Tay’s profile being spammed with get well comments.

A warm feeling spread through my chest. I love my fans. They are so amazing.

~Two Hours Later~

My cell phone buzzed. I looked at the screen and answered it in a flash at what it said. “Hello?!” I spoke a little too quickly. “Amber!” I grinned at Tay’s voice. “Tay! So how are you?”

“I just woke up, and Mom's about to check and read my twitter,” she said. I giggled a bit. I hear her mom say a couple of scentences.“HOLY SNOT!” She yelled into the phone and I pulled it away. “How did they find out about my surgery?!” Tay asked confusedly, and I burst out laughing.

Then I heard the video playing. “Hello guys, Amber here, and this is a quick little update to tell you why I have not been updating you. You see, GeminiGaming also known as Tay-”

“You did this for me?” I grinned and told her I had. “Oh my gosh thank you…”

She was going to be fine. I was going to be fine.

Suddenly, I feel the ground shake underneath me, and I dropped my phone, falling out of the chair. I feel another lurch. I come to a realization of what is happening.

An Earthquake.
