Things between me and Brooklyn have been getting slightly less awkward. There are points where we would carry on a normal conversations but then at some point it became awkward and there was nothing we could do about it.
I started to get a little scared. He's the only one that can read me like a book and I know he's getting suspicious of something. It may be the fact that I keep on pulling at my sweater sleeves and seem to get nervous a lot.
Two years ago, I was different. I was less kept away and a lot more confident. But there's something that hasn't changed. The fact that I'm alone.
I've always been alone from the beginning and for the past two years that's the only thing that hadn't gone away.
My thoughts where cut short as Brooklyn's voice rang through my ears "hello, Sky? Are you still there?" He snapped his fingers in front of my eyes as I blinked a couple of times. "Sorry dude, I zoned out."
He chuckled as my cheeks went pink from embarrassment. "Do you want me to walk you home?" I shook me head shifting my weight from one foot to the other. "No I'm fine-"
"Cool so let's go." I sighed as he began to walk down the side walk. He's still the persistent ass I knew. The truth is I would have loved to walk with Brooklyn, the only thing is that things would get awkward and there was no way you could get around it. Even if he would have accepted my no, we would have been walking the same way.
"Thoughts on Mr.Henderson?" He questioned after a few moments of silence. "He's really loud, it's unnecessary for the small room he is in." I stated making Brooklyn laugh.
Somehow we managed to get from the topic of school, to soccer, then absolute random crap. I missed this. Being able to say whatever comes to mind with Brooklyn. I really miss it.
"Hey babe." I heard Tyler's voice call out. We were still a couple blocks away from my house as both me and Brooklyn turned over to the black colored car. "Come get in the car." My stomach tied to knots. Oh no.
Brooklyn could easily tell how nervous I had gotten and asked "are you okay?" I nodded multiple times as I pulled at my sleeves. "I should go thanks for sorta half way walking me home Beckham. I'll catch you tomorrow at school." I said all in one breathe.
He nodded not believing me as he scanned me up and down. It's became something usual. Where he would scan me up and down. He was become really suspicious and I could tell. Let's just hope he doesn't find out.
"Yeah I'll see you tomorrow sky." Quickly I made my way to Tyler's car, opening the door and slipping inside. I could barley take a second glance at Brooklyn before Tyler began to drive off.
"What were you doing out with him?" He questioned his hand making it's way to my thigh. "Umm, he offered to walk me home..since we walk the same way and all..."
He nodded pressed his fingers into my thigh. "Good to know."
