CHAPTER 7- MY FAMILY...
NOAH'S P.O.V
We were walking side by side, Flora and I. They were a few people on the sidewalk as we strolled past them. Every time I think about what happened at the park, my blood boils. How dare they treat Flora like that? It was bizarre. Hope that punch taught them a lesson. I looked up from where I was glaring at the ground and realized that we had stopped in front of her house.
Goodbye and be safe, okay? I signed at her.
Okay, I will. She signed back looking up at me with an adorable smile.
She looked so beautiful. Just as I was about to turn around to walk to my house which was about a 10 minute walk from here, she wrapped her arms around my waist and hugged me tight, snuggling into my chest. My heart started to beat faster and I straightway hugged her back around her shoulders, my face in the crook of her neck. We were having an intimate moment. If anyone interrupts this, they're going to feel what that jerk at the park felt.
Then she pulled away, her whole face was on fire and I couldn't help but let out an amused grin. She huffed slightly, embarrassed. I looked towards her house and my grin widened even more when I saw her mum trying to look at us behind the curtains. Flora turned around to see what I was looking at and she squeezed her eyes shut when she saw her mum trying to spy on us while not doing a good job at it. I laughed a little and she opened her eyes looked at me.
Jerk, she huffed.
My grin still not going, I kissed her on the cheek and started to walk backwards, waving at her while doing so. I finally turned around and stuffed my hands in my jeans pockets while walking down the sidewalk towards my house. When I arrived, I walked through the driveway and patted my scooter on the way. I had walked to the park as well.
When I went inside, I found my parents in the living room; watching a movie together all cuddled up and I made a gagging sound. They were a very loved up couple, very. My dad had not gone to work today so now they were like this the whole day as well. My mum snapped her head towards me when she heard me and quickly got up, grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the couch and sat me in the middle of her and dad.
So, what happened? She asked.
Yes she knows sign language as well, just like my 3 other siblings. We're 4 in total, I'm the 3rd child. I have an older sister and a brother and a younger sister. My brother Greg the oldest, who is 23, finished college this year and has a fiancée. My sister Julie, she's 21 and still in her third year of college. Then there's me, 18 and starting college tomorrow. And finally my younger sister, Emma. She's 15 and starting her sophomore year tomorrow.
Nothing mum, we just talked. I told her.
Are you sure? Nothing else happened? She prodded. I had told her about Flora and now I regret it very much considering that she always does this. She even did it to Greg with his fiancée, Monica.
Mum, I'm sure. I replied and got off the couch, giving her a kiss on the cheek and going upstairs to my room quickly before she can ask me any more questions. I loved her but sometimes she can be very pushy about things.
I lay down on my single bed and just stared at the ceiling. I sometimes hated being deaf. Not being able to hear anything is awful. The doctors said that me being able to hear was a 5% chance and 5% in the medical world is nothing. I was born deaf, maybe its better like that. Going deaf after getting use to the world with sound would probably be harder. Maybe that's why I met Flora, she can't talk and I can't hear. I wouldn't be constantly sad that I couldn't hear her doubtlessly beautiful voice.
Emma, my younger sister slowly opened the door, peaking her head inside and smiled towards me. She came over to me and sat down next to me on my bed.
Is she beautiful? She asked.
She's stunning. I replied.
