CHAPTER 16- BREAKDOWNS
FLORA'S P.O.V
Noah quickly came next to me and hugged me tightly. Pulled away after a while and just stared into my eyes.
I was so scared. He signed. What happened?
I pointed at my right arm and then towards my mum and she understood and started to explain what happened and the damage of it by signing to Noah. After she explained everything, even the part about me being able to talk again Noah turned to me and hugged me tighter than before.
You’re going to be able to talk again? I’m going to be able to hear your voice?
I nodded my head, the tears starting to come back again. I had really cried a lot today. He wiped my tears away with his thumb and gave a small kiss on my cheek, his hand still cupping the side of my face. I looked to the side to the side to see that my mum had gone outside, probably to give us some privacy. I looked back and saw that Noah was staring at me. I lifted an eyebrow and he looked down and then back up again. What’ s going on with him?
With my left hand I grabbed his right and gave it a squeeze. I don’t know what was bothering him but he should know that I’m always here for him and he gave me a grateful smile. I made a gesture for his phone with my hand and he gave it. I checked the date and my eyes widened and tears came rushing back. It was November 10th.
Another reason why my mum had been so scared. It was the same day, the same day that my dad had a car crash and passed away.
I cried really hard, sobs racking throughout my body. Noah was trying to find out what was wrong but I couldn’t answer him. My mum came into the room and signed at Noah to give us a minute and he nodded getting out.
My mum tried to calm me down, just like all the other years but it wasn’t working. I sat up and hugged my mum so hard, I think she winced a little but she didn’t show it. She hugged me back just as hard. After a while, I stopped crying and calmed down a little.
Noah came back in after I completely calmed down but didn’t ask any questions and I was very thankful.

Noah had gone home after I insisted that he should by writing it in his phones notes as I couldn’t sign and talk yet. He had to rest; His ears must be aching.
My mum came in and sat on the couch next to the bed that I was laying down in. After some time, I fell asleep.

I woke up with a slight headache and the burning feeling in my throat gone. My mum was still on the couch, sleeping.
My throat was feeling a bit dry so I tried to get the jug that was on the bedside table and just as I was about to reach for it, another hand shot out and grabbed it instead. My mum poured me a cup of water and helped me drink it.
“T-t-h-a-a-n-k-k-s-s” I whispered in a hoarse voice and my mums eyes widened.
