Author's Note: The Finally (?) to this story. There will actually be a brief epilogue with this story. I could put it here, but I already did over a thousand words to this part.
Should I (at some point. I'm not talking about doing it currently) do an ask series with the Another-Side!Hermits and normal hermits (Grian, Ren, Iskall, Doc, and Mumbo)?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mumbo's POV:
The counterparts of Ren and Iskall came into the med-bay area. Iskall was carrying Ren, who was looking around in confusion. The other Grian came in from behind. The three went over to the bed next to the other Impulse.
I sighed. Impulse's counterpart had taken a crystal through the leg.
Doc and Scar's counterparts weren't in any better condition either. The other Scar took most of the beating. I heard from Wels that Scar would be conscious soon, but he'll be in his wheelchair for a long time before he can use his braces again.
I shook my head as Grian put his hand on my shoulder, " Do you think that the counterparts are going to be okay?" he whispered as I nodded.
" They're all technically us. They've got our strengths and weaknesses even if their personalities are slightly different." I told him with the sense of unknowing worry in my tone. Grian's shoulders drooped as he leaned against me.
The other Iskall and Grian stood next to each other.
" That creature thing has been defeated." Iskall grinned as the room erupted into cheers. This cheer was cut short though by our Doc cut in.
" Not to be the harbinger of bad news," he stood up and causing Ren to tiredly follow, " but how do we get back to our friends and homes?" he questioned as the counter hermits looked at each other.
Everyone murmured in awkwardness as other Cub let out a cough and sat up in his bed.
Cub's eyes had the look of pure exhaustion in his eyes, but he let his hoarse voice come out.
" The machine.... I've got it on.... I... I... Just need my.... communicator...." he shook as he pointed towards a chest.
Wels walked over to the chest and broke out a grey communicator. He turned around and helped Cub attach the device to his arm.
All hermits conscious, which excluded Scar, Impulse, and this world's Doc, watched as Cub's device lit up.A series of red, blue, and black lights flashed as the sound of sudden rain came overhead. Everyone looked up in shock and awe as the rain barreled down on the base heavily as thunder roared above us.
The other me started to speak in shock, " How did a machine create a storm this fast!?" he loudly questioned as he stood beside Grian's counterpart.
I looked at Grian, and we both stood up.
Cub coughed again, " I have the machine that the beast made Scar and I build connected to X's weather device." he looked up at X. The mentioned hermit was leaning against the wall tiredly, " I'm sorry I used your own machine...." he sighed as X shook his head, " You were being forced to." he whispered as he stuck his hands into his pockets.
I looked up towards the ceiling, " Do.... Do we go?" I asked as I looked at Cub. Everyone was now looking between the ceiling and Cub.
" You guys can start heading up there now. I've got it set up to not harm your friends, and I've made it so that something interesting will happen." he smiled tiredly as he laid back down.
I looked at Grian, Iskall, Ren, and Doc. We all smiled at each other, " Let's head up then." Iskall smirked as he scratched at his goatee.
Wels looked down at Cub, " What about you? You should come to...." he sighed as Cub shook his head.
" No, Go up there. Scar, Impulse, and Doc need to be told what happened when they wake up." he waved us off tiredly. No one wanted to argue with the weak Cub that laid before us.
We all looked at each other, nodded, and walked outside the D-Team base with Grian, myself, Iskall, Ren, and Doc leading the march.
We all stood outside as the rain came down heavily. A familiar site was in front of the base. The blue and red portal.
There was something different with it though.
Instead of the black void, there was the hermits of our world. Stress, Cleo, False, Joe, Wels, and more were standing on the other side with confused looks on their faces.
Joe had taken a step forward when he noticed me; however, he immediately took two steps back when he saw his counterpart.
The hermits from our world stood in the same order that the counterpart hermits were walking in.
The five of us looked back at the counter-hermits, " Thanks for helping us out, and I'm sorry that we kidnapped you guys...." the other me chuckled as Grian and I shrugged, " You were just following orders." Grian replied with a smirk as a small, awkward laugh came from everyone.
We all waved at the others and one by one we entered the portal.
The hermits of our world were speaking in rushed confusion, " Calm down everyone... Calm down!" Doc rose his voice above the crowd as he looked back at the portal.
The counter hermits all waved at us happily as the portal closed behind us.
Doc looked back at everyone with a tired look, " We know you want to know where we're been this past week." he crossed his arms.
The others all nodded with mirrored concerned expression.
Doc let out a yawn, " We will all tell you what happened in our own accounts in a day's time." the murmurs of the crowd grew louder as Doc waved his arms around to silence the worried group.
Everyone glanced at each other as Doc leaned forward slightly, " If you guys went through what we through....." Doc looked at Grian and Ren with a sad expression.
" You, too, would need rest from seeing another side to those hermits." he smirked as the other hermits nodded.
