Here's the thing: Wallace, despite all of his confidence in starting fights with those bigger than him, and also jumping the fences of private properties, found that admitting aloud to Bella that he might want to be more than friends was a bit harder than he'd originally thought.

It only grew exceptionally harder since all Bella could seem to think about was Jacob Black.

Now Wallace wasn't the jealous type, especially since Bella wasn't even his girlfriend to begin with, but also because jealousy was just another form of possession in his eyes. Even when he had been young, Wallace had seen the way his father always exploded whenever he thought Wallace's mom was flirting with someone, and knew that he would never want to replicate that behavior.

So, while it was a bit hurtful to his own feelings, Wallace tried to be as supportive as he could - and by supportive he meant asking Kinney what he should do.

"Bella is constantly talking about another guy and you still think pursuing her is a good idea?" Kinney asks, stirring a large pot of something foul smelling on her stove. She's sipping a beer, one she no doubt stole from her parent's fridge in the garage, and spares Wallace a sideways glance.

Straddling one of Kinney's kitchen table chairs, the back of the chair pressing to Wallace's chest as he rests his arms in front of himself, the blonde male exhales. "She's not interested in him like that. At least, not in the way I've seen her interact with him,"

Humming, Kinney turns off the stove and moves to grab a bowl from her cabinet. Then, as she ladles in a brown colored broth into her ceramic bowl, she speaks again. "Bella is a simple girl, just tell her Wall. What is she going to do, hit you or something?"

"No, but I could loose her friendship," Wallace intones, and the very thought makes his chest constrict.

Kinney sighs, walking towards his direction and taking the seat beside his at the table. She places her mystery soup on the table by her elbow before she's leaning forwards. Her dark eyes are serious as she asks, "You really like her? Like this isn't just your impulsive gene making you think this way?"

Wallace doesn't hesitate, nodding his head, "I really like her Kin,"

"Alright," Kinney states, then nods faintly to herself. "Then what you're going to do is tell her the truth - and Wallace, let me finish before opening your mouth -"

Closing his mouth, Wallace lets Kinney continue.

"And if she feels the same way, which she most definitely does, she'll be overjoyed and like you back. But if on the off chance that she doesn't feel the same way, then she won't make you feel bad for it. Bella isn't like that. At least, I don't get that vibe from her," Kinney finishes, feeding herself a spoonful of her broth.

Wallace thinks of Kinney's words for a moment, "Dawson gave me his blessing,"

Kinney stops for a moment, then rolls her eyes so hard Wallace is surprised they don't get stuck in her eye-sockets, "That boy is a major pig but he's smarter than we all give him credit for. Dawson reads people really well, and if he gave you his, albeit mildly sexist, blessing to date Bella Swan, then that means he not only likes her as a person but knows she'll like you back too."

"I think that's the only time I've ever heard you say something good about Dawson," Wallace teases, giving her a wide grin that crinkles the sides of his mouth.

Kinney's face sours, and then cocks her chin upwards. "If you tell him anything I just said, I'll deny it until I die,"

"Your secret is safe with me, Kin." Wallace states, then he's pressing an obnoxiously wet kiss against her forehead, dodging the hand she brings up to slap his face, and moves out of the kitchen. Kinney hissing at his retreating figure like a feisty kitten.
