Olympus, Third Person
Percy stared down at the ground hundreds of feet below him, before he closed his eyes.10... don't hesitate...
9... you'll see Wise Girl again...
8... you'll see the rest of the Seven again...
7... peace— you'll—
"PERCY JACKSON!" A woman shouted angrily from behind him. Percy's eyes shot open, his concentration broken. Two pairs of feet were running at him, and his eyes widened in fear. Percy shook his head to clear away any second thoughts, before jumping. Off Olympus.
"No! Perseus!" A man shouted. Something wrapped around Percy's torso, stopping his fall.
"No! Let go of me!" Percy snarled, trying to rip the thing holding him back from his Wise Girl. His hand passed clean through it though, and he stared at it. Water. That was what was holding him back. Percy went limp in defeat as the water quickly brought him back to Olympus.
Once his feet touched the ground, he got a face full of fabric as someone hugged the life out of him. Percy smelled the scent of a sea breeze, and he looked up to meet the sea-green eyes of his father, old and weary, "Percy," Poseidon murmured, tightening his arms around his only demigod child, "Percy, why?"
Percy only responded with a shake of his head, before he wrapped his arms around his father in a hug. Poseidon pulled back to look at Percy, his eyes full of pain and weariness.
"Lord Poseidon," A woman said, Percy looked past his father to a woman with a pale complexion and black hair reaching up to her shoulders.
"Hecate," Poseidon greeted, turning around and looking at Hecate with the intense gaze of an Olympian god.
"You remember my proposition, do you not?" Hecate asked, her violet eyes calmly gazing past Poseidon and to Percy, who looked at her blankly.
"Yes, I believe I do," Poseidon sighed, before turning to face Percy, "Alright, Perseus. Hecate has made a proposition for you,"
Percy looked at his father with an eyebrow raised, before he looked at Hecate, nodding his head in respect, "What, may I ask, is the proposition?" Percy said, mindful of his words to the goddess of witchcraft.
"How would you like to start your life anew?" Hecate said, studying elegant fingertips casually.
Percy choked, "W-What?" Percy asked after his coughing fit, "I could do that?"
Hecate nodded, her violet eyes staring right into Percy's soul, "There is a whole other world. A world that is filled with witches and wizards," Hecate said with an air of pride and mystery.
Poseidon sighed loudly, getting impatient, "What Lady Hecate means to say is, how would you like to start your life anew in the world of magic? Of course, you can't tell other witches and wizards about the gods and demigods, but if you choose to go about in that new life, can you promise me that you would IM me or something?" Poseidon said, adding puppy-dog eyes towards the end.
Percy chuckled slightly at his father, "Yes, I promise that I would contact you at least once a week," Percy said, rolling his eyes before he turned to Hecate, "And yes, I would also like to accept your proposition. But there's a catch, isn't it?" Percy raised an eyebrow expectantly.
Hecate nodded, "I will give you the knowledge of the Wizarding world, and knowledge of spells of up to 5th year," Hecate held up a hand as Percy opened his mouth to speak, "The catch is that you have to protect a boy by the name of Harry Potter."
Percy hesitated, but not for long, "I'll do it," Percy said, and Hecate smiled.
Hecate abruptly turned away from them, and she walked away, but not before calling out, "Meet me here tomorrow at curfew, your father will be here as well. Don't tell anyone about this."
Percy fidgeted a little after Hecate walked out of sight, thinking about him nearly killing himself. He couldn't bear to look his father in the eyes at that moment. Percy heard Poseidon sigh, before the weight of a hand was felt on his shoulder. Percy looked up at his father, before he looked down again in shame.
"Percy," Poseidon started slowly, "Percy, what happened?"
Percy shut his eyes tightly, "I couldn't take anymore of anything," Percy whispered, burying his head into his hands, "Everyone expects me to be the powerful hero that they were told about. I couldn't do any of that without my friends, and now they're all... gone," Percy's voice cracked at the end, and he was ashamed to find that his eyes were burning.
"Percy," Poseidon sighed, "I have endured the deaths of all my demigod children, and they never get better with time. You need someone to talk to in your times of need, I can offer to be a better father to you," Poseidon looked at Percy, waiting for a reaction in hope.
Percy's eyes flew open behind his hands in shock, he looked at his father, before he simply nodded, a small grin flitting across his face. Poseidon smiled a blinding smile before he crushed his son in a hug, "Promise me you won't ever do anything like that again," Poseidon said firmly, still hugging his son.
"I promise," Percy said, just as firmly.
"Good,"
A/N: Welp, this is the end of another chapter, it still is pretty short, but hey! Expect longer chapters as the story develops, I dunno. Tell me what you guys think!
