"Luke?! What are you doing here?"

"I live here with my dad."

"Oh. I moved with my dad."

"Yeah, I know."

"How do you know?"

"I mean... It is obvious."

I opened my mouth to say something, but Jason cut me off. "Jennifer"

"Um, ohh I'm sorry. Jason, this is Luke, a friend. Luke, this is Jason."

They shook hands, and stared for a while. Then Jason said. "Jennifer, we should be going."

"Um, yeah sure. Luke, see you around."

"Jennifer" Jason snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Huh"

He pointed to the waiter who was standing at our table.

"Ohh, I'm sorry. I'll just take a hamburger and some coke."

"Sure"

"Jen, what's wrong? From the minute you saw this guy, Luke, I don't know what happened to you."

"I..." I sighed and contined. "Jason, I don't know... I want to tell you something, but you should keep it a secret."

"I will."

"I..." I took a deep breath. "I liked Luke for four years. He asked me to go out with him when my feelings for him were gone. That was the last time I saw him."

He nodded. So I continued. "When I saw him today... I don't know if I should be happy or sad. It's complicated."

"You said that you don't have feelings towards him, right?"

"Yeah"

"So, you should forget the past and maybe you can still be friends with him."

"Yeah. You're right."

"I'm always right." He joked.

I laughed. Jason always knows what to say.
