"Hello Mr. Jackson!" I heard him say. "Is Jennifer over here?"

"Yeah. She's in her bedroom." My dad said.

There was a knock on my door. "Come in." I said.

"Hell- Oh god,  were you crying?!" He said.

"I'm fine."

"No you're not." he said, sitting next to me. He held my chin. "Look at me." He had a concerned look on his face.

"Jason" I whispered.

He ignored me and said "What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Jennifer, I-"

"Jason, I said I'm fine." I cut him off, standing up.

"Stop hiding from everyone and keeping your problems to yourself! You act like everything is okay so no one will worry about you, but you need help." He said, raising his voice and standing up.

"Oh yeah? Who the hell cares?!" I shouted.

"I care." He almost whispered, looking at me in the eye "I do care, a lot."

After a long moment of staring, I sat on the bed and decided to tell him. He sat next to me. His eyes were still fixed at me.

"My-" I whispered, a tear escaping my eye. I gulped and continued, more tears filling my eyes: "My mother was killed. She didn't die from the fire; the heck, she was killed."

I burst into tears. He put a hand on my head and pushed me towards him. I put my head on his shoulder, and he hugged me.

"She was killed." I repeated.

"Shhh." He kept repeating, as he was stroking my hair.

"Why did he killed her?" I asked, as if he knows why.

"I don't know. The cops will find out and will tell you. You don't have to worry." He said calmly.

Time passed. Each minute felt like an hour. When I stopped crying, I realized in what position we were sitting; he had a hand on my back and the other stroking my hair. I had my hands around his back with my head on his shoulder. I felt warm in his hands. I wish we can stay here forever...

I stood up and looked at him. "I'm sorry." I said while wiping my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Sorry for what? For needing help?" He said.

"Thanks" I said smiling. He smiled back. We sat there in awkward silence.

"Question game" he said cheerfully, breaking the silence.

"It was my turn. I'll ask you." I said, as if nothing has happened.

"Okay."

"Which was the most embarrassing moment of your life?"

"I was flirting with a girl, but then I slipped and fell on the floor."

"Oh... my... god.. you-u... did not" I managed to say between my laughter. He only smiled.

"My turn. What are you afraid of?"

"Me? Afraid of?" I asked. He nodded.

"I am afraid of lightnings. Don't laugh!"

"I won't... Are you ticklish?"

"It's not your turn to ask."

"So you are ticklish." He smirked.

I walked back. He walked towards me. I tried to run, but he held me. He put me on the bed and tickled me.

"Jason! Stop!" I kept repeating between my laughs.

I don't know what I did, but he ended up falling on me. He managed to move and lie next to me on the bed. Here we were, laying in bed shoulder to shoulder. We were breathing heavily. I turned my head towards him to see him staring at me. Suddenly, my phone went off. I stood up, and he sat up.

"Hello?" I answered without looking at the ID caller.

"Hey! It's me Luke." The guy over the phone said.

"Luke!" I repeated after him.

"So are you busy tonight?" He asked.

"Actually I am" I answered.

"How about tomorrow?" He asked hopefully.

"No." I said, concluding that he won't give up.

"Great. So I thought maybe we can hang out?" I was looking at Jason who had a disapproving look.

"Yeah... sure. When and where do you want me to come?" I said, ignoring Jason's look.

"As you wish." He said, obviously happy.

"How about Starbucks at 10?"

"Okay! See you there." He said and hung up the phone.

"Why did you agreed?" Jason asked.

"Why should I disagree?" I asked.

"Because you told me you don't want to talk to him anymore?"

"I did, but I have changed my mind." I said. He sighed and shook his head in disapproval.
