It was friday. I was getting dressed to go to Jason's party. I put on the dress that he chose. I smiled at the memory. I put on black heels, straightened my hair, and put on some makeup. I grabbed my purse and went to his house. When I knocked at the door, I heard some laughter before Jason's face appeared.

"Hey" I said.

"Wow. You look... wow."

"Man up, young man!" A girl with black hair and brown eyes appeared from behind.

And to me she cheerfully said. "Hey! You should be Jennifer."

I nodded.

"Nice choice of girls, bro." She whispered to Jason, but it was loud enough for me to hear it. I blushed. Jason smiled.

"Um, I'm Mary. This idiot's best friend."

"Nice to meet you"

I raised my hand for a shake. But she ignored it and gave me a hug. I laughed.

A group of friends were in the living room laughing. When I entered, they all looked at me. Jason introduced me.

"This jerk is Mike, Mary's boyfriend."

"Hey! Don't call my boyfriend a jerk."

"Whatever makes you sleep at night."

There was Serah, William, and Eric as well.

I grabbed a cup of coke and went outside.

I sat on the porch when someone sat down next to me.

"Jason! You scared me."

"Me too. Are you okay?" He said with a worried expression.

"Yeah. You shouldn't be here. Your friends must be searching for you."

"They don't really care. They are busy dancing right now."

I took a sip from my cup and stared at the floor.

"My friends likes you."

"Really?" I looked at him. He was staring at me with those green eyesight his.

"Yeah"

"By the way, did you invite your whole school?!"

"Hahaha, kind of."

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes until he said. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing. I'm just not a party animal."

"That's all?"

"Yeah..."

"Question Game. It was my turn... umm... Why are you always over thinking?" He asked.

"Pass"

"You can't pass."

"Oh yeah?"

He nodded.

"Can't you understand that I don't wanna talk about it?!"

I went inside, threw the cup out on my way, grabbed my purse, and headed home.

"Jennifer! I'm sorry! Jen! Wait!"

I ignored him and went inside. After taking a shower, I laid in bed.

Why are you always over thinking? Huh. What does he expect me to do when my mother is dead, my father is about to bankrupt, and I am in new town, away from my family with no friends? Does he expect me to stay cool and act like everything's perfect? I'm sorry I can't... and I'm not over thinking, just thinking. I thought. Now I'm over thinking.

The next day, I woke up, not knowing how I fell asleep. Then, I went to the kitchen, and as usual dad left a note saying.

Morning kiddo :)

Today I'm working late. There is some spaghetti in the fridge for lunch.

Love you

-Dad

I was about to get some breakfast when the doorbell rang. I sighed and opened the door. No surprise. Jason.

"Morning, sleeping beauty. I brought you some breakfast."

I opened the door farther for him to enter, without saying a word.

"Jen, are you still angry with me?"

I sighed.

"Look, I'm sorry. I-"

"No. I am sorry. Anyway, you're right. I am over thinking. But I have a lot of problems."

"Can I help you with any?"

"No. They can't be fixed. So we're good."

"Yeah"

He hugged me. I put my head in his chest. I heard his heart beating when I hugged him since he's very tall.

"Lets have breakfast; I'm hungry."

"Okay"

I grabbed two plates from the kitchen and we sat in the living room.

"You should try eating in the kitchen. You know, it's way better."

I always sit in the living room. I never eat in tbe kitchen nor stay in my bedroom.

"I'll think about it."

He chuckled.

"Question game."

"Wha..?"

"Question game." I repeated. He opened his mouth to say something but I cut him off. "So I should answer your question that you asked earlier... I over think because I can't erase the thought that my mother is dead, I'm living in a new town, away from my family, and my dad is about to bankrupt."

It felt good to say everything in my mind. I sighed and waited for him to say something, but he didn't. So, I continued. "My turn."

I thought for a minute. I gathered my thoughts and asked him. "Do you believe in true love?"

"Of course. Who doesn't?!"

"Me" I muttered.

"You don't believe in true love?!" I can feel him staring at me.

"No, I don't." I said, still not looking at him.

"Seriously?!"

"Yeah. Love sucks, I don't believe in true love. Movies and books are all from our imagination. Do you wanna know how 'love' is in real life? I'll tell you. You love a person, stare at him all day, and dream about the day that you'll be with him. But he doesn't actually know you exist. Let's pretend they both have feelings for each other. Okay, they got married and had kids. But then, something happened. One of them cheated on his mate. They divorced and their kids stood in life wondering which side they would take. Or maybe one of them will die... Where this love you are talking about?!"

"A day will come and you're going to believe in love. I promise."

I ignored him and put my plate aside. He had already finished when I looked at him.

"So, it's your turn."

"Yeah. What is your dream?"

"My dream is to be in a band."

"Really?!" He asked amused.

"Yeah"

He smiled, but not his usual smile. A knowing smile. He is planning on something...
