No one but a girl

The only thing on my mind as I walk down the hallway to my next class, is the sunset, my journal, and the radio playing on the vacated beach behind our house. I love that place. Nothing beats it. The acoustic riffs in my headphones are playing in my head, as I look down at my feet and continue walking. Just before my favorite part of the song begins, I look up and crash into someone, and we both tumble down in the middle of the hallway. I begin to get up and notice I've dropped their books. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention." I say with a crooked smile. When my eyes move up and find her face, my heart kind of backs up in my chest. Her brown eyes meet mine, and she moves her dirty brown hair behind her ear. She's wearing a thick red button down with grey jeans, and black vans. "It's okay. It was partly my fault too. " She says back. When she gathers her things, she just gets up and walks away. I slowly back up and get a last glance of her, as she looks back and gives a small smile. Then we both depart.

This brings me back to my mindset. This encounter was nothing but a happening.
