"I can't sleep without a home," he takes my hand in his, "And you're my home."
"How can he say such things so naturally? Especially since we just met?" I thought to myself as I brush my teeth, "I shouldn't have drunk alcohol yesterday."
I shake my head as I look at the mirror, "No, he is definitely not in love with you. Maybe he said that because he really wants me to stay safe."
I spit out the foam and proceed to wash off the rest of the residue on my toothbrush, as well as on my face and mouth, before proceeding to do my face care routine.
"But why did he say it like that?" I grip the faucet and start shaking my head, "Ah, I really need to stop thinking about it."
"Jimin!" I hear Hoseok knock at the bathroom door as he calls for me on the other side, "Someone's looking for you."
I walk to the door to unlock it, "They said that they're from the hospital."
I furrow my eyebrows and reluctantly take the phone that he is holding towards me, "Did they say why?"
He shakes his head, "They said that the information is only for you to hear. It's for family members only."
I gently place my phone on my ear and listen to the voice that calmly calls for my name, "Hello? This is Park Jimin."
"Your grandmother is in the Emergency Room right now. Her daughter suggested to call you—"
"Grandmother?" I ask in a low tone, "Sorry, I just want to confirm their identity."
"Her name is Mrs. Lim A-Yeong. She had a heart at—"
I cut him off, "Which hospital is she in?"
"She is currently in Asan Medical Center. As I was saying—"
"Please mail me the check. That's all that they need me for. Thank you for calling, I will be expecting the tab," I end the phone call and walk out of the bathroom, "I'm going to go on a walk, Hoseok. I need to clear my head."
"Should I come with you?" He brings up the idea slowly, but I immediately shake my head as a response.

Park Jimin's Residence

Jimin was gone for some time, he did not show up for home cooked meals nor did he stop by at his home.
I silently look at the text messages that I sent to him before he completely ghosted me for the past week.
I sigh, bummed at how I have not received a single message from Jimin. He probably lost his phone, right?
🧚🏻♂️
I open the lights by the front door and immediately shriek at the sudden human figure popping out of the darkness, "Jimin? You really scared me!"
"I'm sorry for scaring you," he bites his bottom lip, "And I'm sorry for making you worry again."
"Did I do something wrong, Jimin? I will make sure not to make you feel uncomfortable," I gently cup his cheeks, "Should I have not given you your phone that day?"
He then begins to sob, "It's not your fault," he hiccups, covering his face, "I was just trying to run away from it."
"Run away from what, Jimin?"
"From them. They're only using me for my money. What a fucking family they are," he curses as he plants his head on my chest, breaking away from my touch completely, "Even though that I know that they are just using me, I still paid for her check."
"Where did you go after that phone call?" I ask as I place a hand on his back to gently pat it.
"I crashed at Tae's place. I really wanted to run away," he looks at me with expecting eyes, "Do you think that I should?"
I tilt my head to the side, "Should what?"
"Run away from it all. Run away from my own fears, anxiety, responsibilities— heck, just from every single thing," he brings his hands to his face to wipe his tears, "I can't take it anymore Hoseok, I feel so weak and empty. It pisses me off so much. I want to leave them, but I can't seem to escape from them."
"I want to end my life story, please let me."
I hug him tightly and rest my chin on his head. We stay like that for a while; I let him cry as much as he wanted as I stayed completely silent. I believe that he just wants me to be there for him physically if I did not have the right words to say to him.
Some time later, I confirmed that the action that I took on was the right thing to do as he would whisper a small thank you every now and then.
I sigh in relief and repeatedly caress his hair.
At least in this very moment, I can provide him some stability. If it's not just for this one time— if he still needs more of it in the future— I will continue to support him until I know that he can confidently walk on the eggshells and burning charcoals without getting hurt.
I came back to my senses when I felt his arms slowly circling my waist, "Hoseok," he breathes out.
I hum.
"I feel like everyone will be happy when I'm gone," he pauses for a while, "That's a fact, isn't it?"
"Jimin, did I ever tell you how beautiful and precious you are?"
"No," he chuckles, "Why are you trying to deceive me, now?"
"If you believe that I'm deceiving you, why can't you try to believe that your own head is deceiving you as well?" I poke his forehead, "Also, I'm not deceiving you."
I scrunch my nose, "You're beautiful and precious. You have your own spark and charm."
He smiles a bit and I reciprocate the feeling.
"The people that truly care for you will not be happy to know that you are gone, believe me. Do not let the demons inside your head control you, it is definitely not their life to live," I softly whisper.
"I will help you cope Jimin, I will be here for you no matter what. Rant, laugh, shout, cry— do them with me. It does not matter when and where, don't keep your emotions within you all the time. It will hurt you."
"Will you really be okay with that? Will you really do that with me, Hoseok?" Jimin asks, "Always?"
"Always, Jimin. Always."
