KANG KORAIN'S OFFICE

The young acting trainer hummed softly as he transferred the cool fermented drink into the intricately fabricated glass. He frequented staying at the company building at these hours. It was the only way he was able to obtain the fleeting idea of peace in his life, even if it was temporarily. Korain let out a weary sigh, before taking a refined sip from the glass. His slim fingers tapped rhythmically against his revolving chair, and his head swayed tiredly to the side.

His gaze was drowsy as it landed on a small delicate frame, a picture of him and a cheeky young boy resting comfortably inside it. The innocent smile of the young boy held his gaze until his eyes glossed over. Running a hand through his now disheveled hair, he forced himself to look away, standing up from his chair. His hand taking a hold of the cool bottle of wine along with an extra glass, he allowed his feet to take him as if on auto mode to Ceo Mo Milagros' office.

He opened the door comfortably, his tired eyes meeting those of an equally as tired Mo, who had been busy typing away in her computer. The Ceo acknowledged his presence with a small hum, and Korain nodded absentmindedly as he poured a generous amount of wine into the spare glass. He rested it gently in front of Mo, before stationing himself on one of the small black couches situated on the side of the office. Mo's gaze lay intensely on his weary form, critical and inquisitive, as she took a sip from her glass.

"How long will you endure it Korain?" Mo's voice was stable, yet tender, her eyes determined, yet compassionate.

There was silence, until Korain spoke, his gaze trained on the ceiling. "For Hanbit, I would endure even the most merciless, scorching fires from the depths of hell Solimar."

A sound of exasperation was heard from the female, her glass coming down sharply to its place on her desk. "She has no right to lay even so of a finger on you Korain! Do you know what it is like to come here everyday, and to see my employee, to see someone I care so deeply for, barely able to function because of that woman?!"

Korain's body tensed evidently at Mo's words, his voice strained. "Hanbit loves her Solimar. I cannot simply take that away from him."

Mo's voice was rough and cold as she spoke her next words. "Then you shall watch pitifully as she slowly eats away at your entire being." Mo's glass came down with a thud, her chair sliding harshly against the floor as she arose stiffly.

Korain watched her silently. If that was what it took to keep his son's happiness, then so be it. His gaze followed as Mo made her way towards the exit, her blood-red heels striking the floor sharply. She turned towards him once, dismissing him with crestfallen face, before leaving the office.

Korain exhaled the breath he had unknowingly held in. He ran a hand violently through his hair, his fingers pulling harshly at its roots. His eyes resembled a mirror now. There, in the comfort of his own solitude, he allowed his wall to crumble.
