What Emilia Clarke's co-star from Me Before You, Sam Claflin, found really challenging about working on their movie was "not being friends with Emilia" since his character was quite hostile towards the character she was playing during their first few scenes. He added that he "clicked immediately" with Emilia Clarke.
Lily Collins claimed that she was "encouraged to bring a fresh take, to breathe life into a song lyric and make it an episode." This was when she played Fantine in Les Misérables.
