Willow Ajina's POV
Ruby and Jeanne remained hanging off my arms as we entered the hall, never having let go since we started the walk back over to the ceremony. Since our little 'argument' I had calmed down, however that was only after they locked onto my arms and refused to let go, Ruby giving me puppy dog eyes the entire way until I slowed my fast paced steps. Ruby and Jeanne were evidently not sure what to make of my sense of smell at first, but after I had managed to locate the entrance to the school, they had since relaxed.
We entered the hall and I was immediately hit by the roar of chatter and a wave of heat as the scale of the amount of people accepted into Beacon this year was finally revealed. My ears folded back, still hidden beneath my hood as I recoiled from the sound. Shockingly, despite all of the noise, Yang's voice somehow managed to be louder as she called out to us. "Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!" she called out, waving even if she didn't need to as her bright blonde hair was an obvious enough indicator.
Yang then caught my eyes and suddenly looked slightly grim. "Sorry Willow! There's not enough room over here!" She added as she looked down at her hands in mild disappointment. "Don't worry about it Yang" I responded, wrapping an arm around Jeanne's shoulders "I'll just stay with Jeanne!" I offered Yang a slight nod before glancing at Jeanne, sending her a wink before glancing back around the room, failing to notice her blush as she tucked herself further into my arm.
Ruby let go of my arm before speaking to Jeanne and I. "Oh! Hey, I gotta go. See you after the ceremony." She exclaimed before she scampered off, running towards her sisters side while glancing back at us pitifully on occasion, before her Ruby Red colouration was swallowed up into the crowd. "Hey. wait!" Jeanne called out, sighing as she realised Ruby was already out of site.
"At least I still have you huh?" Jeanne said morbidly, grasping at straws as she tried to lighten the mood. I smiled at her and nodded, pausing for a second as I inhaled, sniffing the air. Over the overwhelming smells of everyone else, I could smell Chanel No. 5 from the courtyard. It could be no one else's as there was still the smell of soot clinging to the scent. I glanced at Jeanne as I looked at her apologetically. "Actually, there's something I need to do". I murmured gently, a kind look in my gaze which proceeded to soften further when she looked at me sadly, realising that I too had to go. "Bye Jeanne."
"Where else am I going to find some nice, quirky girls to talk to?" Jeanne questioned indignantly, clearly speaking to herself as it was something that I imagine wasn't supposed to be said out loud. I was about to turn around and thank her for her compliment, but as I turned back Jeanne moved out of the way, revealing a girl standing behind her. 'Pyrrha Nikos.' I could've recognised the striking girl from anywhere, the bright red hair and emerald eyes standing out from amongst the crowd.
Pyrrha was taller in person than what I remembered, or from what was suggested from the commercials, and all the more stunning. Her bright red hair was up in a ponytail that reached down to the small of her back, her bright, emerald green eyes shining like beacons. Her outfit... Her outfit was very similar to the ones worn by amazons in books.
She wore brown heeled boots and golden armour which covered her torso and shins, a strip of red fabric wrapped around her hips much like a skirt, before tapering off into a long piece of ruffle fabric that hung down her right leg. A pair of brown gloves reached up her arms to above her elbows, a golden brace wrapped around her left arm over the gloves. Further up her left arm was also a golden bicep band, while on her neck she wore a thick, golden plated necklace that ran up to her chin and down to her shoulders. Matching her other golden accessories was a golden band wrapping around her head, offsetting her red locks beautifully. I nearly slapped myself, as now was not the time to be admiring Pyrrha. It was time to find that cat and perfume wearer. I turned back, avoiding Pyrrha's curious gaze as I started to walk back over to the sisters and towards the perfumed girl.
