Jeiden's POV:

After getting that reply from Jaelyn, I found myself dozing off trying to come up with a good reply, not trying to leave her on read/ seen. But that's what came to be by the end of it all, since I woke up phone flopped on the other side of the bed. And my poor pillow covered in what seemed to be my own saliva, gross.

I wipe across my face with my bare arm, before my gaze was met with my hang clock. 10am... 10... am? 10. Am. Holy shit! I clicked my phone screen, only to have the dead battery icon pop up, I over slept, I'm late.

I quick brushed my teeth, and looked at my wild bedhead that could only be saved by a shower. But fuck a shower, I need to get to the shelter before they open, so the dogs won't be antsy, and can be adopted by a loving family and they can be happy for their whole dog life.

I thought to myself while mentally crying. I could feel my heart screaming in the sudden agony from my faint willpower of not feeling guilty. I pull on a regular ol' t-shirt and overalls over my legs, and a hat to hide my birds nests. Sneakers, keys, phone, and sprint! Just kidding I got a phone call right before I left the house.

"Hey Jaelyn! This so sudden, I'm actually late for volunteering-" I say locking my door in a hurry, aaand. I bumped into my neighbor who just so happened to be walking behind me. Causing both our cell phones to go flying across the floor, and my neighbor landing straight back onto her bum. Great.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I'm in a rush, and I'm just so flustered right now..." I say in a sudden panic, helping her to her feet, and scrapping for both our phones. "Here you go, I'm sorry again, but I need to rush away from you." I quickly blurt, while practicly falling down the stairs and running down the street.

"I'm so sorry, I dropped my phone, and now I'm running to the shelter. I feel all over the place, sorry..." I try to say in a calm matter, but in fact, it did not come out that way. Though with my all over the place, manic she let out a chuckle.

"It's okay, I actually dropped my phone too. Maybe were sharing one brain cell." She said calmly. "I'll talk to you later, you seem to have a lot on your plate at the moment."

We said quick goodbyes, and in that moment I kinda bursted through the back entry to the animal shelter. To which I was met by an always bubbly Bebe, she owns the shelter.

She's a small girl that always outshines herself with every passing day. Her fashion sense is on point, her hair stays switched up with different dyes, or new styles she has done. Her eyes are like diving in a clear ocean, only to be met by a passing turtle and it's kin. If she only knew I has the fattest crush on her, would she find it awkward? Would she want me to stop coming around?

"Jeiden, it's always nice to see you coming around. A-are you okay?" She said in a worried tone. "I'm fine." I let out a short response, because of my lack of breath.

"Baby you're not. You think you can come over here, being a hot mess, and think I'm going to have you do hard labor for me? No no no. You look and seem rung out a lot lately, why don't you ever enjoy your weekends? We have everything under control here..." Bebe went on, holding my hands. I couldn't bare to look her in the eyes, she can read me like a book.

I am over working myself, but it's just to distract from my usually lonely life. I do have friends, and sometimes it seems like they're never free, but someone's bound to be at some point soon. Right?

"Since you came all this way, sit down with me in the employee quarters, have a cup of coffee with me. Let's talk until it's opening. The dogs are fine with missing one day, there's always tomorrow. You know Avil and Feii come, they'll walk my slobbery sons and daughters." I paused for a moment. "Please?" She pleaded. "O-okay.."
