I woke up on Sunday morning and waited for the normal dread of my life to come crashing on top of my bed, but the memory of my moment with Namjoon slapped a smile on my face that stayed there for the rest of the day.

I kept replaying Namjoon's kiss in my mind, over and over again, having to re-start if I realised I'd missed out a significant detail, like how he smiled when he took a breath then started kissing me again, or the way his fingers combed through my hair. Mum and Jin were completely bemused by my good mood, mum giving Jin a stern look when I said the party was 'perfect', and every time I saw Teddy I chased him and locked him in a cuddle, wanting to take everyone on a journey with me up on cloud nine.

That was, until I walked past the front door and noticed an envelope sitting ominously in the hallway. I knew it was for me even though it was face down, and as I picked it up I could feel it suck the elation out of my body through my fingertips.

I ran up to my room, confusing Jin when he offered me a smile and I scowled at him, and opened the envelope expecting another threat to keep away from Tae. But this note was different.

This one was a warning to stay away from Namjoon.

I stare at the note tucked inside my book as the teacher drones on about the Treaty of Versailles and I stifle another yawn. Instead of lying awake thinking about Namjoon like I should do if I was a normal person, all I could think about was the note.

The bell rings and chairs screech across the floor as everyone moves like sheep onto their next classes. I join the herd as it spills into the corridor and spot Rose ducking into the toilets. I put my head down and ignore the 'stay to the left' rule that teachers love to bellow as they stand guard in the corridors, and force myself through the crowd to the door to the toilets. As I walk in I realise that this and the library seem to be where I spend most of my time socialising, which is kind of sad..

Rose turns to brush the other side of her hair and sees me. "Hey!" She pauses, mid-stroke, and frowns at me. "What's up? I thought you'd be walking around with a stupid smile on your face." Her shoulders slump. "Namjoon hasn't upset you already, has he?"

The bell rings again, signalling that we're going to be late for the next class and Rose throws her brush in her bag. I back out of the door as she zips up her bag.

"No, he hasn't done anything. Just...I got another note. Can you hang out later? At mine?"

Rose nods, her just brushed hair falling over her shoulders in waves. "Of course. I'll wait for you at the gate so we can walk together." She checks her watch. "You better go. Don't you have Miss. Adkins next? She does not like late people."

My shoulders droop as I realise Rose's right; the fact that I have Maths next is like the world's worst weather forecast. "Yeah. I'll see you later then."

I head out of the toilets and hurry down the corridor, then realise that I'm going in the wrong direction so I spin around and slam right into someone. Too embarrassed to look at them, I dodge to the left and the right to try and get past.

"Desperate to get away from me?"

I look up, and all thoughts of the note, of Tae, of anything else on this planet, are swept away by the presence of Namjoon. He must have just had PE as the aroma of freshly washed boy engulfs me, making my knees feel like rubber. He's wearing a pair of grey jogger bottoms, and a white t-shirt that clings to his shoulders, and his hair curls up around his neck where it's still damp from his shower. The memory of Saturday night replays in my mind as I grin up at him, until I realise he's speaking to me.

I shake my head and blink a few times. "Sorry?" "Uh, I said 'hey'?"
"Oh." Great start, Y/n. "Hey."
"How's it going?"

I shrug my shoulders. "Okay."
"Good." He bites his lip, and looks at the floor. "I was hoping I'd see you today." My heart feels like it's trying to escape from my chest. "Really?"
