taiyou p.o.v.

"mom, i'm home!" i yell, walking into my house.

my mother came rushing to the front door, with a broom in her hand. "did you pass the graduation exam?"

i lifted up my hand to point at my forehead, and grinned. "you bet!"

she dropped the broom, and brought me into a tight hug. "i'm so proud of you, taiyou."

"thank you, mom. i love you."

     "i love you too honey."

i pulled away from the hug, remembering the promise shinzo gave me earlier at the training grounds. "is shinzo home?"

"no, he left a little while ago for his mission," she picked up the broom that was dropped moments ago, "but he left you a note in your room. i don't know what it's about, but it seemed like he wanted you to read it."

i sighed, and walked to my room. 'he promised me.'

as soon as i got to my room, i took notice of the note left on my bed. 'this must be the note mom was talking about...' i walked up to my bed and picked up the note.

"sorry i had to leave a bit earlier, the hokage wanted me to have an extra day or two just in case the mission was blah blah blah." rolling my eyes, i crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it onto the ground.

'i guess i could watch clouds with shika and choji,' i took a deep breath in, 'but then again, i could use some training. i don't want to look like a complete fool tomorrow.'

sighing, i walked back out of my room and into the kitchen where my mother was cleaning. "mom?"

     "yes, taiyou?"

"i'm going to go train, i'll be back later." i scratched my neck.

"alright, but be home before nightfall, i don't want you to get hurt."

i checked my leg to make sure my weapon pouch was there, and walked out of the front door. 'it was about 4:00pm when i left, so i should have about three to four hours to train.' i thought to myself, walking up the path to the training grounds.

as i got closer and closer to the grounds, i heard someone training. 'who could it be?'

a boy that i was familiar with was throwing shuriken at targets, and hitting them dead into the center. his raven black hair swifted through the air as he turned around towards the tree i was behind. his onyx eyes met my light grey eyes for a quick second before i ducked back behind the tree. "u- uh sorry about that, i'll find s- somewhere else to train." i called out from behind the stump.

"why can't you use this one? it's just a training ground, nothing special."

"i mean, i don't want to get into your w- way or anything," i slowly got from behind the tree, "but if you're f- fine with me staying here, then i guess i will."

     "hn."

i looked down at the ground, and swallowed down the lump in my throat. 'gosh why do i have to be so awkward?'

"are you going to train or not?" he sounded annoyed.

"y- yeah, sorry about that." i studdered once again.

i took a deep breath of air, and walked up towards sasuke. "do you mind if i try something?"

"uh," he looked around him, "what?"
