"Eleven." I say as I choke on my own tears. I thought I would never see her again. We shared a room, one day I woke up and she was gone. I thought she was just being given a test. But, she never came back.
El: "Twelve."
Max: "Twelve?!"
The red headed girl looks very confused and shocked.
Mike: "Yeah. We were riding around on our bikes, and she ran in front of us and Dustin hit her. She's fine, but Dustin's bike isn't."
Dustin lets out a sigh.
Mike: "We saw her tattoo and we knew we had to bring her here."
Lucas: "Weirdo #2"
I look at him, how could he say something so rude.
Will: "Don't be rude, Lucas."
Lucas rolls his eyes and crosses his arms.
Mike: "El? You two know each other?"
El: "we shared rooms."
I feel like I need to say something but I don't know what to say, what if I say the wrong thing and they throw me back into the woods. Let Brenner take me. But, Eleven is here and she wouldn't let that happen.
Dustin: "Twelve. What are your powers?"
Eleven looks at me, pity and sadness shown across her face.
Twelve: "I can be set on fire, and never die. My skin after being burnt quickly changes back to normal. I can't drown to death. I can't freeze to death. I can't be killed. I can't choke. I can't catch disease. I'm immortal."
As I say this, memories of unbearable pain from the experiments come back to me. The pain of choking on water as it fills all the way to the ceiling. The pain of burning as flames swirl around me. The pain of the sharp ice that clings to my body. The pain of being tortured but never dying. Never.
I don't realize it, until now but Im crying. Not just any tears, like when I saw Eleven. But I see the red drop onto the floor. Im crying blood.
